Whatever it is, it's objectively not from 2011 or 2012. Those are notoriously bad years. Almost guaranteed it's not from 2013 either. As good as some albums from 2013 are, they're still not really strong contenders for best. So I'd focus on those 3 years first and then go ahead and knock them out.

Generally speaking, and just a personal observation, I found the last 15 years (trickling off a lot in the last 5) to be heavily influenced by labels far more than albums. Even recognized or well regarded albums on those labels more or less just added to the overall vision of the label itself, which took precedence over the specific instances (whether they liked it or not). This shifted into another realm in the last several years, but overall I think of the last 15 years in terms of great labels, not great releases (though there were some).
