A question for /metal/: Is there a band you disliked that you got to see live, and it only proved your bias/made you hate them more?

For me it's Cattle Decapitation. Never cared for them but I went to seem them with a friend, hoping it might change my opinion.
They were fucking terrible. Boring songs with shitty stop-start structures, barely audible 'riffs', and the vocalist was this massive primadonna bitch who kept complaining that we weren't moshing enough. Even ended their lame set saying he didn't want to come back. 200 Stab Wounds was supporting, and even their milquetoast DM was far more enjoyable than that travesty

For what it's worth I think old Hate Forest is a bit of a mixed bag, although Purity is probably my favourite of the ones I've heard.
If you don't vibe with it, I'd recommend at least checking out Hour of the Centaur. I think that's where he really nails the rolling riffs.

Bought myself a Sony cassette deck yesterday. Finally I got smth proper that I can play my tapes on. My Sony boombox just doesn't cut it. And maybe this will be the stepping stone to getting back into listening to my records again. Next step is to buy myself a pre-amp I guess. I'm just planning on using the auxiliary-out into my Bluetooth speaker for now but I'm still expecting my tapes to sound better in comparison to my relatively cheap boombox. I have some seriously cool tapes I'm itching to play. Oh and this deck can dub tapes too so I think I'mma order a 5 or 10 pack of blanks from Amazon. Might start recording the radio again idk lol. I just wanted smth that would make my tapes sound decent. We'll see.

I always listen to the bonus editions of albums and if they have bonus tracks I try to make them fit within the runtime of the actual album because I find it jarring to listen to something that isn't meant to be the ending as the final song. Unless it's something that ends up working better as the final song. This is how I arranged RTL, for example.

It doesn't need to be Scott Burns production, but any EQ setting that makes a once compressed, often guitar-dominated mix/master better is far preferable. Yes although I haven't added anything to my library in over a year because it's such a pain in the ass to tag everything. Even just getting everything I want through slsk takes hours. I strip almost everything in mp3tag and even the ones that remain always need manual correction. Sometimes some garbage remains somehow like some shitty blog as a comment or idiotic genre tags. The tags I add off the top of my head song name, album, song length, country, year, type of release, female vocals uhh that's it. Splits are a gigantic pain in the ass so I have only a bunch tagged properly. Plus literal who bands I can barely find info about like what fucking country are they even from. Also proper folder structures and formatting. I don't care how the music files itself are named because musicbee displays it properly anyway. After listening to something 3-4 times I usually rate every song (exception are releases with very short songs, then I just "heart" my faves) then the album as a whole then I add the genre tag(s). It's always what I decide because people are retarded and put albums into completely wrong genres. Exceptions are when it's something I'm not really familiar with, then I just look up a bunch of sources and add the least convoluted and retarded sounding (rym is a joke most of the time).
