Let's get real guys, IVE is a fucking chemi black hole.
Most people would pin it on Wony. And while it's true that's she's an autistic icequeen with a single-minded and egotistical devotion to perfection. And the other girls not including Yujin are afraid and weirded out by her. It's really not all her fault. Yujin doesn't care about the rest of the members either. She'd much rather hang out with her variety or izone friends. (wony would never)
That leaves Rei, Leeseo, Gaeul, and Liz.
Rei, is completely hidden, she's like the Patrick Bateman of kpop. You see her, you might even shake her hand. But she's simply not there. She will never show you her real face. She might be even faker than wonyoung, which is saying something. But wonyoung is fake due to her mother drilling being fake into her, and wony using it to isolate her own autism and insecurities, Rei is fake as a calculated move, because she's ultimately just a really nasty person.
Then there's Leeseo, a spoiled little rich brat who never got told no. It's like Eunchae if Eunchae was completely shameless and without a conscience. Maybe if she had an older girl to set her straight and teach her humility and humanity she wouldn't have turned out to be such a horrific human being, ultimately it's her parents fault. Wony occasionally dotes on her, but this is purely a narcissistic exercise and Leeseo knows it.
Then there's Gaeul. Who got thrown into this shark tank and is just keeping quiet to stay alive.
And Liz, came out pretty stronk but excessive dieting to keep up with wony severely damaged her thyroid balance and made her balloon up. It's taken her two and a half years to recover from this and she's finally seeing some benefit. If she can keep from rekking her endocrinal system and spiraling back into insecurity and depression she might just be fine.
Obviously this isn't an environment in which chemi can be developed or thrive.
