Say has anyone used rocksmith 2014 before? How good is it to learn how to play guitar (and piano)? It seems neat but kind of skeptical because it's Ubisoft.

Usually just turning on the drum machine and playing until something clicks. sometimes start a loop then build on it by jamming but never record any of it. Since I understand a bit more theory, I'm thinking we will try and write but we'll see. My friend plays guitar and I check up on him but he's not very consistent with practice. That makes me sad

3 lbs halved ripe tomatoes
.5lb diced onion
1 bunch sliced celery
.5lb minced Jalapeno (adjust to taste for heat, can use serranos/habeneros)
1 bundle of cilantro chopped with stems

Brown the beef with the onions on high heat with a teaspoon of vegetable oil, add a tsp of salt to sweat the beef and onions. Once browned add the celery and continue cooking for 2 minutes, once the celery starts to release its aroma add the jalepeno mince and halved tomatoes, smashing the tomatoes as you add them to release their juices, once smashed all meat and vegetables should be submerged in the tomato juice, if they didnt juice enough out add water till all is covered, simmer for 2 hours on low heat, add half the cilantro, simmer another 1 hour or until meat is fall apart tender and add the last half of the cilantro, serve with warm tortillas.

Cuz the spring tank in the amp is both reverb and tremolo and theyโ€™re controlled by the same knobs, and I wanted to use the on board spring tank as an analog tremolo with an analog spring reverb on my board. If I want to use both reverb and tremolo on the on board tank they both have the have the exact same setting, and I like being able to have very wet drippy reverb with subtle tremolo or subtle reverb with warbly tremolo. With the pedal I can have two separate reverb channels and with the on board tank I can dial in the tremolo exactly how I like

Do I just get a squier classic vibe jaguar or spend the extra few hundred for the player ii? What's the differences apart from the classic vibe having all the bells and whistles? And buttons ofc, am I really just going to be paying for the Fender logo?
Anonymous No.126700509
>>126700445
The Classic Vibe targets vintage specs, and the Player II tries for more modern specs.
A couple examples:
CV has a gloss neck and the Player has a satin urethane neck.
The Player has a less deep C shape in its neck than the CV.

There's a lot of changes that make me sorta scratch my head, though, like them completely removing the rhythm circuit and switches for pickup selection on the Player II. It makes it feel like it's not a real Jaguar without all that.
They fuck up the pickup selection for the Mustang in that series, too, and it's the big reason I would never get a Player II Mustang.
Also they don't even give you locking tuners until you step up to their more expensive Player II Modified series (which they offer neither Jaguars nor Mustangs in anyways).
Honestly, if you can stomach not having Fender on the headstock and the body being poplar instead of alder then I'd say just get the Classic Vibe. I've got a CV in my collection, and it's a perfectly fine instrument.
The more I look at the Player II the more disappointing it seems. You don't even get the cool block inlays, tortoise shell pickguard, or bound fretboard.

I pulled mine out about an hour ago remembering I have some shims and a 3 pack of heavy bottoms I wanted to put on it. Even after a .25 shim, action adjustment, bridge and intonation setup it still just feels like shit, trem non withstanding. To put it bluntly you would have to upgrade the trem and hope that you got one with exceptional QC if you want a CV Jag that even remotely stands up next to the cheapest Fender jag. My Vintera required a shim and a fair amount of setup as well but it actually plays and sounds very, very nice after doing so, I just canโ€™t say the same of the CV. I guess the player 2 is an option if you donโ€™t care about the rhythm circuit but thatโ€™s a lot of what makes a jag a jag IMO.

Frens list week 24 2025.

Following posters are back on my friend list (on a provisional basis):

- black es 335 poster after he stopped posting his momma's couch every thread for a week
- robot poster after he got new robot memes, not the old one with the robot feet in the air

Following are still off the list:

- black bass pedal guy
- that guy that says whoa and is you seeing this randomly

Addendum: P90 guitar guy is still on my BFF list (no homo)

Mustang bro? I hope itโ€™s a good one. I was bitching about the trem on my MG73 a few threads back and it must have been the strings being new because now it stays in tune just fine. Not loving the mustang trem arm though, I need to try one of my longer arms in it and buy one of those if I like it.

Will you seal the fret slots? This has always intrigued me, my friend had a nice fretless bass back in the day, I forget which brand but it was from the 80s and had active pickups and sounded and played very smooth. Youโ€™ll probably have to lower the action too right?

does anyone else ever think about guitars being alive? like these shitplanks being mass produced in china feel like they have diseases and they are in pain all the time then they get abused by their owners or when boomers buy a stratocaster and they relic it themselves with sandpaper and hammers the guitar wants to scream because its like going through cartel torture but we can't hear it then it ends up starving in solitary confinement because the boomer doesn't play it anyway, its why I always give my Christina a rubdown with high quality guitar polish and restring her from time to time to let her know she is loved. "good girl" I say as I readjust her trem block, I even pop a boner when I remove her pickguard (Its really her brassiere) yep thats Christina alright, the headstock says "Fender Stratocaster" but her heart says "play with me and hear me roar"

Yeah I've got some wood filler, I assume that's better to use in this situation rather than wood putty since it's meant to be sanded. Never tried it myself but it seems straightforward enough. Definitely will have to lower the action.
I have a fretless Glarry bass (like $60 on Amazon) and I love that MWUAAAAHHH sliding sound, but the guitar itself feels terrible. Super light body, heavy and thick neck, and I don't know what the fretboard is made out of but it feels awful.
I'll post it when I finish. It'll probably look sloppy, but as long as it plays well, that's good enough for me

It took some trial and error but Iโ€™m pretty sure I found the strings that came on my Vintera mustang that sound perfect on those guitars. The guy said Heavy Bottoms but after autistically measuring the string gauge with multiple sets of calipers and matching the color of the string coating, Iโ€™m 99.9% certain they are in fact Power Slinkyโ€™s. I wasted ~$30 dollars worth of strings but it was worth it and gave me some practice on changing strings with a mustang vibrato. Going to take some time for them to settle and age, but they feel very close.

I just realized I donโ€™t have any 11s on hand cuz I used my last sets restringing my Revstar and LP Special so I gotta go get some, this has what feels like 9s on it and I hate how 9s feel on a short scale. I didnโ€™t realize this came with the vibrato arm, seller didnโ€™t mention it and it wasnโ€™t in any pics so Iโ€™m surprised itโ€™s here. I hate the little set screw so Iโ€™m gonna go check if my nuts and bolts section at the hardware store has a little thumb screw thatโ€™s the same thread pitch so I can mess with the arm while playing without keeping an Allen key on hand.

Sounds great though my Princeton though, pots arenโ€™t scratchy and selector sliders work as they should. Not gonna really dig into playing it hard until I set it all up and shim the neck and tweak the vibrato and change strings and all that really really fun not tedious stuff

Squier has had some really shit models in my experience (affinity, bullet) but every Sonic I've gotten, guitar or bass, has been set up and sounds good right out the box.
If it's a jazz bass you're looking for, Fender is a better bet. But if it's just for laying down a bass line for your songs, I think it's a good buy. Nothing you can't easily do in your DAW to make it pro quality.

Yes, if you take a fret rocker anywhere near a guitar that has strings on it, everyone will want to laugh at you, but they won't because it's rude. They will probably try to quietly point out the fool to others. No one will tell you why it's pointless to check frets on a strung guitar, though, not worth it.

You want a strong thick lad holding down the low end, that I can tell you. I'm a big guy myself... Anyways, off to close out the weekly "Friday" gig my band headlines at the downtown club. They pay $500 per set. Not that I need the money. Lets hope the sound guy isn't the scrawny twig from last week. I tried to educate him on mic placement as he was trying to set up. Iโ€™ve got some trouble shooting to do with it. Worst case scenarios are:
1) Worn out Japanese vibrato unit; replace with a $200+ vintage unit thatโ€™s built with better quality metal that wonโ€™t wear out from metal on metal contact
2) Take it to a guitar shop 2.5 hours away that specializes in offset guitars and they could easily get it going for me but Iโ€™ll be way more than Iโ€™ve ever spent on a setup
3) say fuck it and just buy a Ben Gibbard Mustang hardtail โ€œvibratoโ€ from Fender for like $90 and just be done with tweaking a floating vibrato and then tweak the bridge so it wonโ€™t rock/just buy a Mastery bridge
Iโ€™m gonna keep fiddling with it until I get it right, itโ€™s just annoying when you think youโ€™ve got it when you donโ€™t

You play in a key which shapes the notes, chords, and scales you'll play. Sometimes songs will change keys, and you'll have to accommodate that.
At speed you'll mostly be playing based off shapes (which are really just a consequence of intervals which you definitely need to learn), but it'd be best to memorize the whole fretboard eventually.

HILS is for people that don't care about country of origin. But based on the fact that Fender is a billion dollar company there are plenty of retards, that think that having brown hands craft their instruments within the US border somehow magically makes it superior to brown/yellow hands outside of it so obviously HILS is not an option there, but Kiesel still mogs Fender in the US department in any case.
I think the HILS is much better value, as well and don't care about where the instrument comes from.
