listening this now. just a few tracks in but its pretty good. I admit I was dubious when I saw the date because usually I much prefer the raw sound early - mid 90s techno, I just find it psychedelicer than the smoother sounds of post-millennial stuff. but this is different to most trance, seems like its got way more ideas melodically

Agree with you on Nite Jewel. Haven't heard of Tamaryn so I went and checked their first album. It sounds alright, but it's just in one ear out the other. Nothing really sticked with me. Thanks for the rec though, here's mine:

Kidcrash Jokes never clicked with me, been listening since 2010 and it never quite landed. i actually like their pop punky sound from the first album more, hah. but the Florida band Capsule clicked recently though, their type of mathy/screamo is so impressive to me. and some sort of sludgy influence from Baroness/Kylesa. i rec them if you're feeling like some techy stuff

yeah I'd say that's a fair assessment, although I gave it up quite a few years ago now. Leaned my lessons and moved on. What they definitely don't do is enough ecstasy. Got any techno proper recs for me? I usually end up on the trance side of the spectrum but I do enjoy a bit of techno. Since I noticed a bit off finnish music on your chart, maybe try that Hameen Nopein album on my chart. It's like a hyprid ofSuyomisaundi and finnish folk music. Interesting to hear what you make of that haha
