>>126745060It's the one album from the pop punk emo wave at the time that really felt authentic. Every single song sounds exactly like the album cover, which if you were a teenager in 2004 that was exactly what you wanted. Twelve songs and an interlude, just at 40 minute run time, every song has a massive chorus with extremely melodramatic lyrics and a singer who is probably the least talented popular musician alive but extremely loveable regardless which makes the entire album super fun to sing along to because you can't be out of key. I think the "bullets and love notes and cyanide and gravestones" thing probably comes off as extremely corny if you aren't in the right audience, but compared to similar bands like Wednesday 13 or whatever MCR seemed like the real deal.
