Achtung Baby
What does /mu/ think of this U2 album

This album has aged like fine wine and stands as U2's best and most musically adventurous album. Every song hits like a brick. Tracks like One, Ultraviolet, and Love is Blindness are some of the band's most emotionally soul-scraping achievements.

Unironically a 10/10 album, not one bad song.

I'm not a huge U2 fan, but this album is pretty good

I prefer Zooropa and I think that one is more adventurous overall, but I admit Achtung Baby is a more solid album.
I was a teenager when Achtung Baby came out, the first time I heard Even Better Than The Real Thing come on the radio, I thought there was something wrong with the broadcast.

Great Album.
I was fortunate enough to hear most of the songs live
During the ZOOTV tour in Nov. 93.
Best concert experience of my life.

Great songs but shit sounding. Don't care for the electronica stuff.

There's nothing approaching electronica on Achtung Baby, maybe you're thinking of Zooropa. Achtung Baby always sounded like a ton of bricks to me.

it's electronica sounding but still with guitars.

Album is great of my fav albums ever and basically the album would be /mu/ core if not for the stupid hate that hipster music nerds have for U2

U2’s best work. Every song is different from the next but it all holds together perfectly. Contains some of their biggest hits and their best deep tracks. It’s so sonically colorful nothing short of a masterpiece and pretty handily their greatest work.

Also Pearl Jam ripped the album cover off with No Code.

the same boring shit they were already doing from the 80's except european

Flood's engineering was required to make them sound like NIN and Depeche Mode.
Lilywhite emulated Oakenfold, Osbourne and Weatherall.

It was pieced together for U2 to stay relevant. Peak narcissism. Max myth making invoked to sell it. Used the Bowie formula for success.

I tried listening to it and got very bored all of the songs kinda blended into one. I like the intro to Where the Streets Have no Name and Vertigo and Beautiful Day are kino in a cringe way but apart from that I think I just don't like U2's music.
