Stuff like Motown, Funk, Reggae etc isn't really considered "black" anymore by the younger generations. Even subgenres within rap besides gangster have largely disappeared. If you're a young black kid in the hood and you start bumping Parliament or Zapp you're most likely gonna get clowned on if not accused of listening to "white" music

iron maiden is good because they're the rare metal band that actually prioritizes hooks whether guitar or vocally. most metal bands play their riffs too fast and the sense of melody gets lost, even Maiden has this problem sometimes but their first handful of records find the perfect balance, also Di'anno is more punk than your average metal singer and that also separates them

Thoughts on the current tour? Setlist, production, performance.

Setlist is shitty for me, only exceptions being Rue Morgue, Killers, Mariner, 7th son, rest of the set is overplayed stuff they've been doing on repeat since 2008. A lot of the songs on the list should have been replaced with others

Maybe not in that particular order, but still.

The production is shit. Turning the entire stage into a giant tablet is super soulless cringe. The worst they've maybe ever done. Worse than even No Prayer and Fear's fake Marshalls stack. At least those were head on, stripped down to basics.

Performance was alright by everyone, Adrian and Davey are excellent, Janick is there. The new drummer is the only weird part, missing key fills and Nickoisms for some of the songs, otherwise does the job.

I'll be going to the London show, going to shit on them a lot if it's disappointing.
