I'm not a Putin apologists and I think Waters is a campist retard for picking the America-bad side by default on Ukraine (even if he's obviously absolutely right about Isr*el), but Redux isn't a bad album at all, it's a lot less prog and a lot more art rock and that's fine, I really appreciate the texture he gave to a lot of the songs. Some are kinda meh, but I do think that the synth-adorned acoustic arrangements really fit lyrics like Time and Brain Damage.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bIDFxI-hYqw
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AUEUqGbW7VQ

Also, I'd hapily take someone with American diabolist politics who lacks some nuance here and there over the median cucked American celebrity who will just default to whatever the Overton window allows them to express a given day, it takes balls for Roger Waters to turn his Instagram feed into daily angry schizoposting about his hatred for Israel, and frankly, you gotta respect that grind. Like or hate the man, he certainly has principles, which is more than you can say for people like Yorke and Steven Wilson.

Hotel Professionally Acceptable, Quebec.

We arrived at the hotel around 10.45, dribbling gently.

The hotel suggested it is a 5-minute walk from the gate of the old city. In this weather, with slippy streets & a cruelly biting wind, I'm not trusting the information. And the hotel operator tells me that AOL is not available from this hotel. Experienced English travelers will immediately recognise this misinformation as a Gallic plot to prevent the further dissemination of the English language. Tour Manager MJK has just gone on line with AOL, to prove the lie. Bite on that, garlic-chewing snail suckers!

Tony has too much class to comment on geopolitics. He knows his place is that of a musician and not a political pundit. If he has something to say, he lets his music do the talking. Steve could learn a thing or two from him.

I am somewhat new to prog, I have been loving old gabriel era genesis since I was a kid and exploring from that, been listening to opeth and porcupine tree recently and that kind of scratched an itch. Then I stumbled upon the raven that refused to sing album from steven wilson and was absolutely blown away, and I still am. It's wonderful. Especially the title track just has this haunting beauty to it.

The best contemporary prog bands are Wobbler and Anglagard, you will probably like them a lot. You may also like Steven Wilson's Grace for Drowning since you liked Raven

For me it's Magma being sampled by Death Grips
https://youtu.be/HtbAgynP8iY?t=17

Thought it was hilariously bizarre at first
Then I learned Zach Hill has a really extensive history playing prog rock/"brutal prog" before Death Grips.

Best thing Tony ever did was the intro to Firth of Fifth.

hey newfren. sounds like you're drawn to the darker more melancholic side of prog and are already into Opeth. perhaps some prog metal is right for you. here's a good proggy Opeth clone

i think he chose to leave himself; from what i've read it was due to just the sheer volume that the rest of the band played at, it was getting harder to hear himself on stage

>β€œMatte Kudasai” (待ってください, lit. β€˜please wait’ in Japanese) describes a lover pining and waiting for someone, seemingly overseas, to come home. With the Japanese & American theming, this is similar to Madame Butterfly, an opera about a U.S. naval officer who marries a Japanese girl and leaves shortly after their wedding, leaving her to wait three years for him to come back, committing suicide after she finds out he has remarried.
