It's always been stupid. /wpop/ is flaming dogshit in a bag.
What has /wpop/ done for us? Did it defeat /kpop/? Has it brought us greater knowledge and understanding of popular music? Did it form meaningful relationships, prevent in any way the years of the total destruction of it's culture that happened under its watch? Did it even produce good art beyond a few unintentionally hilarious DP quotables, and the first-rate performance art of the general's years-long disintegration into a caricature of the exact kind of drug-addled, vacuous and babbling Discord drama hub that /wpop/'s participants hated most? No. Unequivocally no.
This endless stupid triviality manifests in the appalling spectacle of people still propping up the moldering corpse of /wpop/. Five years later, and we're still acting as if /wpop/ is some kind of revolution. We're like fucking Civil War reenactors trying to grasp that glorious moment of transgression where a bunch of dudes who couldn't use their fucking keyboards properly due to excessive alcohol use, take them on 4chan and post their shit, and defy you to say that they post nothing but shit. So they could say "yeah that's the point!!!"
Fuck that shit. Fuck that whole move.
