Iโm Canadian and I really want to like Rush but they kind of fucking suck. Just boring as hell, I know they are great technical musicians but I donโt give a fuck
>>126761504 (OP) I've always thought they were too "proggy" for the classic rock station crowd and too "generic" for folks really into prog rock; falling onto a part of the spectrum where they're only really loved by Rush fans.
It also doesn't help that they switched styles so often. I only like their 1978-81 output, La Villa Strangiato has one of my favourite guitar solos.
>>126761532 >zoomers: lmao [band/genre] is such truecel virgincore music girls hate that shit >boomers in YouTube comments: My 15 year old girlfriend bought me A Farewell to Kings in 1979 so I knocked her up. thanks Neil!
>>126761647 I'm 42 and while i have met a couple female Rush fans in my life they were never a big hit with the ladies. They were immensely talented on a technical level but they were normal looking dudes who came off as dorky DnD nerds and never cared about fashion or image. Of course young rocker chicks aren't gonna be lining up for their shows
>>126761532 >>126761580 Women used to love Rush back in the day, but for modern women they're too nerdy and too libertarian. A song like The Trees could never be made today.

>>126761504 (OP) Rush is like AC/DC, all of their songs are the same song but it's a pretty good song so people don't mind. And Rush is generally better when they stop after 3-4 minutes.

They are a crossover band. They blow the minds of dudes who only really listened to classic rock, but compared to all the prog bands that inspired them they're very boring.
