I went to guitar center this week after work and just played guitars for two hours but tried 10 different guitars. The best was PRS. I had never even really even heard of them before. The necks were so easy to get around on and not sticky like Gibson. The tone was bright like fender but also meaty like Les Paul.bYou could do scales well on it almost like Ibanez but with higher action.

Step 1:
Throw out the floyd rose special and put at a minimum a Gotoh or OFR on it. If you insist on keeping the special, get steel saddles and bolts for it.

Step 2:
Find a way to block the bridge from tilting back under spring pressure (playing cards or credit cards work good here). Block it it off so it can't.

Step 3:
get the bridge to sit at your desired action height when parallel to the body. DO NOT ADJUST THE STUD HEIGHT UNDER STRING OR SPRING TENSION. YOU WILL FUCK YOUR KNIFE EDGES. Lube the knife edges with a light machine oil or bike chain grease (not WD-40). Block the bridge off again.

4.
Tune the guitar up with the fine tuners 75% out. Lock the nut. Remove the block. Now adjust the screws on the trem claw until the strings are all in tune again. wowee, you're done. But your intonation is probably fucked, meaning you need to block the bridge again and repeat the process while adjusting the saddle positions individually (this part sucks, but you'll get quick at it if you're not retarded)

My new Mustang.
I’ve got a 1970s production vibrato plate coming in the mail next week and that should help with tuning return to zero better with vibrato use. The vibrato rocks against a sharp knife edge on the vibrato plate and Japanese units are made of a softer metal so it wears out and causes more friction and stops being very stable, while the vintage units are a harder metal which holds the sharp edge longer and then keeps it a stable unit for longer. If it doesn’t help oh well it was only $25. Love this guitar.
