From what I've read, if 3x3 headstocks have proper string cuts in the nut then they can be stable, everyone does 90d cuts though so the d/g string always fall sharp the minute you hit a bend.

If you were looking at buying an older guitar that had corrosion on some of the chrome parts, would that bother you? Would you clean it up to stop further corrosion, just leave it alone, or replace the corroded parts? There’s a cool 1970s Tele for sale locally but the bridge plate and control plate are pretty heavily corroded with spots of brown rust.

Apple can be fine as an end user consumer experience, but you'll be locked in an ecosystem and never have any real control over the details of how it all works or behaves. And when they want you to upgrade, they'll just purposely throttle your shit whether you like it or not. When applying this "model" to other fields like music, it's almost as bad. No ability to mod, for one. If it's too dependent on software, you're shit out of luck when they get tired of updating...and they will. And then if you want to stick with this brand you're comfortable with, they just tell you to get a whole new unit. The worst you had to worry about old amps or guitars is just finding an easy to replace part. Or getting new tape for your reel-to-reel. Or whatever. Trivial shit.

You can definitely get the knob to fit back on. If there's no mechanism to screw it in you could wrap some electrical tape over that tip until it slides on snugly. That is unless the knob's just completely exploded. If that's the case you can just measure the diameter you need and get a new knob.

Is it safe to say that a v1 Mesa Lone Star Classic for 1k with minor cosmetic damage to the grill and tolex, and an oddly fast Ch2 vol knob(feels like a repair was made there maybe) would be a good deal? It didn't explode after an hour at mid volumes with the drive/gain maxed out. Bitch weighs like 70lbs but that fucking drive channel was peak mid gain recto growl. How do these compare to the filmores? My biggest concerns are a potential full set of cap replacements repairs and-or the OT exploding after 20 years now, assuming it's never been serviced(unlikely given this thing looks like its seen a bunch of tours)
