I was a "not music" faggot and thought this album was shit on release, at least until I heard it through a decent sound system. Really changed my perspective, and that was the day I stopped being a pretentious music snob. I found myself able laugh along with the lyrics, rather than scoff. I could simply vibe with the music, rather than automatically analyze it. Carter III will always have a special place in my heart for that reason.
