It's fairly rare but if I'm ever in a half awake/half sleep hypnagogic state, I sometimes hear full songs in my head that sound like a legit recording artist made them, or unique melodies. Unfortunately I never remember them beyond the first two minutes of waking up, and I'm not even a musician either. It would be interesting to make an album of songs that come purely from sleep though

I've practiced music so much I dream playing it and I actually consciously work out the fingering correctly in my dream. Yes.

I've met bands and pop stars in my dreams quite often.

Sometimes, but I've had it where it seems like the way it sounded in your head seemed better than when you try to do it in RL

Sometimes when I'm on the toilet I hear in my head a big band version of the Godfather theme, in the style of the Jeeves and Wooster theme by Anne Dudley. I imagine it with perfect clarity, it's amazing.

Yes, and it's one of the reasons that I'm a musician. You should probably learn an instrument and try to make those songs yourself if you haven't. You owe it to all of the people who made the art you adore

Ive only had it happen with jungle music. There were tracks I've dreamt that I thought were simple recollections of artists' styles I'm familiar of but no, they were 100% original compositions.
Rather eerie when I notice it happen from time to time.

you guys ever have that dream where you're hired to play as a replacement for someone in a really famous band but didn't learn the songs so now you're shitting yourself about to go on stage and then pretend you know what you're doing and you guess your way through it and hope no one notices or is that just me?

Aphex Twin: Ambient Works II, nigga. Practiced lucid dreaming, made music in the dream studio, woke up, then translated them to physical instruments.

Yeah. I call them dreamsongs. They happen during that "half-asleep" phase where you're drifting away but can still connect ideas. They're usually perfect flowstate masterpieces. I've managed to remember a few, but out of the 4 I've remembered and recorded, there were a THOUSAND more I lost in a dream

When I was a teenager about 10 years ago I listened to nujabes reflection eternal while I sleep, when I woke up, the song sounded completely strange and different, like it wasn't the same song anymore and the pitches/timings were weird.
