for bass you want big meaty sausage fingers, i'm talking summer sausage, its not so much about length as it is girth, that thick meaty tone comes from a ton of skin contact and meat touching the string dampening its sound giving it that dulcet fat finger touch, again, you want thick round sausage fingers, thicker the better, little chode fingers, you never have to stretch more than 4 notes anyway so theres no excuse just start doing finger exercisizes to add that finger girth because if you don't have it people can tell and they will laugh at you behind your back and in front of your face because you kind of deserve it with your frail little girl fingers

I don't like Vocaroo. I'm past the point where I'm a total poorfag and total thirdie that I need to record on Vocaroo with my webcam. In fact, my audio equipment is too advanced to even be able to record on Vocaroo, shit just doesn't work.
Sometime I'll post a Catbox just to have fun with you guys, but I'm not having fun here. I enjoy your playing for the most part, but your sound is fucked, it's sad.

Are Catboxes even allowed?

Retoast:
This is my condrum looking for a bedroom practice amp that could potentially be taken to gig, so far theres's:
Vox valvetronix
>"ONLY ONE PREAMP TUBE!" (but sounds great)
>No usb/headphone out, no app control
>Only the 40w sounds good

Boss katana mk3 50
>Affordable but heavy
>Push tones are modeled but still tinny compared to other amps
>Still kind of shit but the good kind of cheap shit

Boss katana mini x
>Decent built-in stuff
>NO APP CONTROL, NO XTRA SOUNDS
>Only runs off of usb rechargeable battery
>Tiny and can never gig with it, will have to spend another 500$ on something better later

Spark fullsize
>Tons of shit through the app
>You have to use the app
>Not really a great 50w amp

Yamaha THR
>Sounds great
>Easy to use, some computer control functionality
>Near field 10w dual speakers
>Tranny favorite
>Can never gig with it

Blues jr.
>I am not a boomer
>Only sounds good at high volume, past bedroom level, not enough to gig with

N-UX
>Can't find in America
>Semi-decent
>Drum machine
>Still kind of sucks

Marshall DSL100
>PP get big
>Bank account get small :(

I really want to give up and just get a boss katana mini and hate myself for the next year at this point desu

Yeah. You're probably right. What will end up happening is twhat has usually happened, the real ones will end up in the hands of the guitarists who have 'made it', or your name was Jim Irsay (God bless him).

So, then it is a case of waiting too see how valuable the next level of guitarist down values these pedals. I am just going to sit back and laugh at probably the best ยฃ60 I have ever spent. Before that it was the Tone city Angel wing or the Golden plexi. Happy days.

Katana. Search your feelings, you know it to be true. You can connect it over USB and record with no mic. You can plug guitar into the front and play it like a regular amp. You can use a built-in digital boost, modulation, or delay. It's loud or quiet enough. It is still a PA+speaker if you get tired of the digital section.
You are also missing another option, orange micro terror/dark/stamp + small 1x12 or 1x10 cabinet.

I could not agree more man. I have bad back problems, became basically house bound, so decided to get back into the guitar again about 8 years ago. Got a cheap amp (Fender champion 100. Unbelievable for the money) to go with my old Ibanez Roadstar 2 series. Got some Tone city pedals from Andertons. The sound was amazing.

Few years later I am sitting with a Les paul and an Ultra strat with a few more Harley Bentons and a EVH Stripes. Boss katana 100 mk2, Marshall dsl20, and still have the Fender champion. Upgraded my pedals to Boss blues driver, DS2, a RAT. Cloudburst (best pedal in the world btw)...The Les Paul with the tone city pedals and the cloudburst into the Champion is probably the best combo of the lot. If it is good to your ears? That is all that matters. Fuck the price involved. Music is all about the soul.

21 fret Fenders look the coolest.
24 looks goofiest. Especially on a PRS. The body is smaller on a Dinky or whatnot (I think that's why they named it that), so it doesn't have the same weirdness. You gotta look closely, but that 24 fret body is longer on the bottom.

That's true for all guitars not just PRS man, after all you have to shift the neck pick up towards the bridge with more frets and that will change the tone

Yeah I'm probably wrong about Ibanez. I don't play any. But better players than me have done great things with them. I had a PRS once though and it droves me nuts how sterile the neck was. Like a Middle pickup setting or something. It didn't have the fat warmth.

So I've found I'm an OD addict, I like to stack drives and also use them to tighten up amp distortion. Is the klone circuit worth investing in? is it really that good?

Buy a used Helix LT or Stomp and a used FRFR cab, even a used POD Go if you have to for now. It will be infinitely more versatile and better sounding than any of the modeling amps you've listed, and you can save for the FRFR cab to get one that's loud enough to gig with. At home just practice with headphones for now or get some cheap amazon studio monitors.

If you aren't going Yamaha, I'd suggest a seagull, orangewood, or Alvarez for sub 500 dollars. If you are going to spend more than 500 get a nice entry level taylor or Martin. Of course you can save money going used either way. The one thing you have to look out for is that IF you decide to go with an acoustic electric, yamaha is going to be the only one that sounds good for under 2000 dollars. They just have the best electronics.

not all solid wood is better than all laminate. sometimes solid wood guitars are over-built and lack resonance. layered/laminate back and sides, if done well, can be just fine. whats important is the top being solid wood.

In a scale the fifth note from the root note is called a fifth, it sounds good because the frequency is exactly 1.5 times of the root so they resonate well together

NTA looking but I personally won't buy used acoustics unless its above a particular price point. an acoustic with a slightly bowed neck that needs a reset isn't worth it sub-$1000 or so and its ridiculously common for things like that to be glossed-over or not mentioned at all on reverb.

you could easily get a solid wood acoustic for 500 dollars if you get used. Yamaha's solid tier starts around 800 brand new.
laminated guitars aren't necessarily bad either. you don't have to worry about humidifying or taking care of them, they are campfire and hobo guitars, and will last way longer than your D18 with zero care needed

How new? There's a fine line here. You want to focus on learning, and wasting time/money on Gear Acquisition Syndrome is a very real pitfall.
On the flipside you want your guitar to sound cool to your own ears so that you're inspired to pick it up and make noise with it.
Making noise is important for every level of guitarist.

I bought one of those off a college kid via craigslist circa 2013 or something like that. His parents gave it to him as a gift, but he wanted to shred. The action was high-as-fuck when I went to check it out and I still wonder if he was just trolling with that setup or if he actually played it like that.
My only gripe is that I wish it had dot inlays instead of the trapezoids. I would prefer my guitar to look like an absolute cheap piece of shit.
