I got one of these for ยฃ60. Sounds amazing, but if this continues...it will be being sold, as my other Klon clone sounds good too (Golden horsie). What do you guys reckon will happen in the long run with this pedal? Should I hold on too it? What will be the ceiling you think?
>>126839940>What will be the ceiling you think?Depends. How little do you believe the average guitarist understands about electrical engineering to keep overpaying for 73cents worth of components in an aluminum box?

Unbelievable for the money) to go with my old Ibanez Roadstar 2 series. Got some Tone city pedals from Andertons. The sound was amazing.
Few years later I am sitting with a Les paul and an Ultra strat with a few more Harley Bentons and a EVH Stripes. Boss katana 100 mk2, Marshall dsl20, and still have the Fender champion. Upgraded my pedals to Boss blues driver, DS2, a RAT. Cloudburst (best pedal in the world btw)...The Les Paul with the tone city pedals and the cloudburst into the Champion is probably the best combo of the lot. If it is good to your ears? >>126840960just two step bend bro
Limited experience but 24 frets really don't feel that different to play on than a 22. If they were more common (without floyds) I wouldn't mind owning one.
>>126840960No but a while ago I planned to do a multiple parts cover of a song, I finished learning the guitar part and then switched to the bass part to find it has an extra string more than mine
>>12684096021 fret Fenders look the coolest.
24 looks goofiest. Especially on a PRS. The body is smaller on a Dinky or whatnot (I think that's why they named it that), so it doesn't have the same weirdness. You gotta look closely, but that 24 fret body is longer on the bottom.
>>126841006In addition to looking goofy, the neck pickup on PRS 24 sound like sterile shit. No real Woman Tone. The McCarty is better.
I don't know about the others. You listen to Vai on For the Love of God and he sounds pretty badass..and that sounds like the neck pup.
>>126841062Isn't that just because they move the bridge up so they could fit the longer neck on the same spot
>>126841098I guess something like that...but it apparently screws with the neck pup. Test it for yourself next time you're in the store. Don't take my word for it. I'd bet an Ibanez neck or Jackson sounds better. And a Gibson even more.
>>126841062Man PRS guitars just donโt do a single thing for me.
>>126840960Just pretend you have the extra frets and put your fingers where they would be. I'm being serious.

>>126841141That's true for all guitars not just PRS man, after all you have to shift the neck pick up towards the bridge with more frets and that will change the tone
>>126841245Yeah I'm probably wrong about Ibanez. I don't play any. But better players than me have done great things with them. I had a PRS once though and it droves me nuts how sterile the neck was. Like a Middle pickup setting or something. It didn't have the fat warmth.

>>126845099Yamaha has the best entry level electric, acoustic steel string and classical guitars. a 200 dollar yamaha is greater than or equal to any 1000 dollar guitar from a lesser brand. a 1000 dollar Yamaha is greater than or equal to any guitar ever built
My A string snapped while I was playing through RIP. Right in the middle of Poison was the cure. Played through Powerslave and KEA before that. Just put then on a few weeks ago. Fucking fender strings. Didn't even snap properly, just the wounding snapped.
>>126839659Buy a used Helix LT or Stomp and a used FRFR cab, even a used POD Go if you have to for now. It will be infinitely more versatile and better sounding than any of the modeling amps you've listed, and you can save for the FRFR cab to get one that's loud enough to gig with. At home just practice with headphones for now or get some cheap amazon studio monitors.
>>126842455Enjoy it for the whole week it works
>>126845099If you aren't going Yamaha, I'd suggest a seagull, orangewood, or Alvarez for sub 500 dollars. If you are going to spend more than 500 get a nice entry level taylor or Martin. Of course you can save money going used either way. The one thing you have to look out for is that IF you decide to go with an acoustic electric, yamaha is going to be the only one that sounds good for under 2000 dollars. They just have the best electronics.
>>126842366>>126842379They're just rebranded NUX pedals.
>>126845415I liked the newer nux modeling amps, that's actually quite reassuring.
Finally sitting down to learn all the guitar parts from bohemian rhapsody. I already know the solo but forgot some of it so I'm just combing through the stems to try to match his feel as much as possible. Didn't try to match his tone tho was just practicing.

>>126846819Buy whatever you like the looks of it doesn't really matter, when you're deeper in the shit you'll develop your own preferences
>>126846266not all solid wood is better than all laminate. sometimes solid wood guitars are over-built and lack resonance. layered/laminate back and sides, if done well, can be just fine. whats important is the top being solid wood.
>>126846752And you are not part of it

>>126846973Oh man youre about to discover power chords
>>126846973In a scale the fifth note from the root note is called a fifth, it sounds good because the frequency is exactly 1.5 times of the root so they resonate well together
>>126846872cope for someone who is retarded. buy solid wood obviously just don't pick a retarded one. it's so easy to buy something good if you aren't retarded
>>126847049dont be an idiot. i'm buying a d-18 because i want good solid wood guitar that will last me a lifetime. but he asked for budget and you're not going to find solid wood under $500 that isn't made of doorframe.
>>126846832I will
>>126846834I know i mostly care if its any good for learning
>>126847060yes you fucking will lol BUY USED DON'T BE RETARDED.
>>126847139NTA looking but I personally won't buy used acoustics unless its above a particular price point. an acoustic with a slightly bowed neck that needs a reset isn't worth it sub-$1000 or so and its ridiculously common for things like that to be glossed-over or not mentioned at all on reverb.
>>126847129Yeah why not, everone starts on an ibanez, it's hardtail so you won't waste fiddling with it either
>>126847174then look for one in your area that you can go check out numb nuts it's so fucking easy and you people will bitch and moan and justify your retarded decisions every step of the way I just bought an excellent used acoustic nary a scratch and it was completely and utterly fulfilling from start to finish why because I'm smart and I make good decisions because I'm not full of fear and bile from my own backed up shit that I'm full of!

>>126847060you could easily get a solid wood acoustic for 500 dollars if you get used. Yamaha's solid tier starts around 800 brand new.
laminated guitars aren't necessarily bad either. you don't have to worry about humidifying or taking care of them, they are campfire and hobo guitars, and will last way longer than your D18 with zero care needed
>>126847222>last longer than your d-18No. I will have that guitar when I'm 70.

>>126847330>when should I start playing with the tone of my guitar?when you learn how to actually play your guitar
>>126847348Why do these look like the bottom tier studios that used to cost $800
>>126847330How new? There's a fine line here. You want to focus on learning, and wasting time/money on Gear Acquisition Syndrome is a very real pitfall.
On the flipside you want your guitar to sound cool to your own ears so that you're inspired to pick it up and make noise with it.
Making noise is important for every level of guitarist.

This looks pretty sick
>>126847129Itโs fine. The pickups are going to suck but it should at least play decent. Are you trying to learn metal?
>>126847291Les Paul can play easily play any genre ever. Strat might struggle with heavier stuff even with a humbucker in the bridge. Fender humbucker suck. Alternatively you could get a superstrat like a charvel or Jackson
>>126847367I bought one of those off a college kid via craigslist circa 2013 or something like that. His parents gave it to him as a gift, but he wanted to shred. The action was high-as-fuck when I went to check it out and I still wonder if he was just trolling with that setup or if he actually played it like that.
My only gripe is that I wish it had dot inlays instead of the trapezoids. I would prefer my guitar to look like an absolute cheap piece of shit.
