/singing general/ first edition
So, I'm the anon who made that thread about a /singing general/ yesterday.
Now let's try it a bit. Here's a cover of Norwegian Wood, by The Beatles. Rate me and be honest:

what kind of gear do you use for singing?

Whatever you do, make sure to push from your diaphragm anytime you want to project your voice.

I used to use my phone as a mic in the computer but the delay is greater than using the bultin one, but the phone quality is far better.
laptop mic = hear myself whilst in practice
phone mic = record vocals

I believe everyone can sing and it's just about getting to use their voice in a way that functions for the song tbqh.
There's entire genres of music where having a dodgy voice doesn't matter as long as you have the right feel for whatever you're doing.

I agree, I don't see how that pic is related at all though. Chet's voice was like an extension of his trumpet playing, very unique beautiful vocals.

Very amateur, you have some decent parts but cannot hold a steady note and you lose a lot of projection in parts due to a lack of fundamental breathing. You need to work your diaphragm a lot more some of those notes you are straining to hit which is damaging in the long term you should be more relaxed. Good luck.

Can you like give a routine?

Mine is just warm up, C major scale going up and down. Like 4 notes up and down and going to the next note. Then 1 octave up and down and next note. Also note + perfect fifth and next note. I sing simple vowels doing those exercises and some doing brrrr and trrr noises with the mouth. After that I go to sing my setlist.
I don't feel it's enough. This warmup is about 3 to 5 minutes.

I also mostly do nothing else besides practicing.
Sometimes I try to sing notes following up a piano but didn't found a an exercise-like routine to improve my pitch.
Anonymous No.126864942 [Report]

I am also not doing that practice that much. Sometimes I do like 4 times a week, other times I go 2 weeks without practicing...
I do feel more confident about my singing so better than nothing I guess...

I usually do some warm up for 15 minutes, then I go sing the songs I like for more 15 minutes, which includes studying lyrics, melody, tuning etc. 5x a week.

I just came here to post about singing. I've been listening to a ton of Beach Boys for months now, and it kills me that I can't really hit falsetto notes with any strength at all. I can hit them in chill songs but nothing with any drive. Anyone have any tips?

You need to start working on how your voice is projecting, sounds weak when you're trying to reach the high notes. I hear potential.

Brian was a tenor, so it's naturally very hard to sing in his tone. Lip trills are a good exercise to hit high notes better though
