Not all Christian music is like this however, there are entire Orchestral Suites dedicated to Christianity that sound heavenly. Then you have songs with strong religious themes but endless Christ dicksucking takes a backseat like a lot of Blues

What we associate with 'Christian music', is usually made by suburban American Evangelicals. It's corny dogshit because pretty much everything made by that demographic is. Catholic, Orthodox and even Anglican music can be pretty good. Not the type of stuff I'd put on my playlist, but still.

Contemporary Christian music and gospel sucks because it's made with the wrong intention. The art takes a backseat and, as a result, you get bad art. Doesn't matter though, because the audience for this material isn't in it for the art anyway.

There's tons of great Christian music, and there's tons of great music made by Christian artists — Gregorian chants are great, Sufjan Stevens is great, Christmas carols are great — but contemporary Christian music like gospel and Christian rock and whatnot tends to suck ass.
