Bone Thugz-N-Harmony. ANYTHING by them is good. The changes they went through always "Fit their times", and in general they just produced some way better emotionally connected/Socially concious sensible rap. Gangster? Yes, being in the know? Yes, but they had the real NWA-like attitude running in as stated, a more emotional rap/R&B/Double tempo-machine gun fashion that made them great.
