Is there anything more delicious than AI replacing all these arrogant musicians? I love music but I hate that art Chad and Stacy get to live in NYC and have wild sex orgies because they play the same 3 chords as everyone else. We will all make beautiful songs now. The playing field has been leveled.

the dumbass celebrity lifestyle is pretty trivial next to what art used to mean to humanity though, is it even worth having sour grapes over
also will ai even replace that, people still want figurehead celeb types to connect with, what the total saturation of the world with aislop threatens is the possibility of ever standing out on musical merit

Manufactured pop may as well be AI generated.

The problem with AI is the same problem as with that music too, just taken a step further.
When people complain about radio pop being completely autotuned and lifeless and overly perfect, that's the same thing with AI. A huge amount of beauty in music comes from a person's limitations, and with AI the limitations are removed and that's bad for art.

To give an example, no one would ever generate an AI vocal to sound like Bob Dylan but we'd all be worse off if that vocal never existed.

Yes, the top 100-200 artists in the world will continue to be relevant. But there will be no real underground anymore. The "middle class" musician of 10k-1 million monthly listeners will be a thing of the past. In its place a sea of endless AI songs. Millions and millions of songs generated everyday, Spotify pushing them deliberately. Music as an art is dead.

Why would a person bother doing any manual labor on a song if a computer can do it all? Furthermore, why would major music conglomerates (Spotify, Apple Music, etc) not create endless in-house ai generated music with ZERO human involvement? This would save them from ever having to pay any royalties. It would turn them into a legitimately profitable business.
And like it or not, Spotify and the other major streaming services ARE music. That is how 99% of people listen to manic now. There is no infrastructure for an underground movement. And likely, there wont even be a market for it. The vast majority of people just want something that sounds good in the car on the way to work or while doing their school work. Gen alpha wont know anything but a world of generated art. The distinction to them will be meaningless.

But when you perform said music is it really even AI music anymore? I honestly think that's the worst part about AI music actually, is that you cannot experiment with it, it just steals what humans have already done and remixes it (garbage in garbage out) so whatever someone generates with AI is always just going to be existing genres and shit, so there's literally no point. You can't have an AI generate things that humans otherwise wouldn't be able to perform, that would be far more interesting imo.

People with no talent or creativity or inspiration do exist and they do tend to be bitter about seeing fulfilled people who contribute to the world and get to experience what having a soul is like rather than being completely expendables npc just moving through life leaving no mark on the world or other people and merely existing hoping a robot won't make them obsolete and homeless
Now there is a chance that artists can be brought down to their level and that must feel like payback time

have there been any signs of that so far?
even pretty major artists seem to have got uniformly negative responses including from their own fans, eg the alchemist x erykah badou collab and that was just for aislopping the video not (presumably) the entire song

Kanye is a pariah now but if not for his yetler phase I'm sure he would make AI mor acceptable.

I'm not against the idea, I just haven’t come across anything worth a damn yet.
