maybe try a thread on /soc/ or here? I've wondered why there aren't more collabs on /mu/ where people post like a rhythm track of a song then other anons come up with supplementary lyric/drums/lead or whatever to go with it

I was thinking more IRL. I realized that I literally have no one in my life and if I'm going to bring people into it, it may as well be people who I have some shared interest / goal with, so I settled on music

Intersections. Lots of people in their cars have to stop at the red lights. you can meet 300 or 400 people per hour this way.

A guy I knew who went to sex addict meetings used to say he met a lot of his hookups through stuff like this, just making eye contact during traffic and stuff and I am amazed seeing it here and thinking this is real. Is this real? How the fuck does that work

Open mics, local music scene Facebook/social media, Craigslist sometimes. Attending shows of music you like and socializing with other attendees or even the band. It can be awkward and annoying to meet bandmates, especially good ones or if your scene is whack, but not much else to do but try

Bands have always formed out of necessity, not by force. You make music by yourself and share that music with others first. Then other music enthusiasts with similar tastes and sensibilities share their music with you and you become friends. You work on music together, and share that. Maybe a third person takes interest and joins. So on and so forth. You don't just make a Craigslist ad calling for musicians and form a band that way. I mean you can but it's gonna be shit.

Church. A lot of musicians got their start in a church band.
