I never doubted they would reunite because while both brothers are cunts, they are cunts that love money

>>126936592Why are they โcuntsโ? They seem pretty funny to me.
I got extremely drunk last night watching the live stream. If I remember correctly they sounded pretty good.

>>126939272Brings a tear to my eye
Is Oasis 3.0 the best live version of this band? I was never a big fan of Alan Whiteโs drumming on Definitely Maybe songs
>>126939272Do they know there are other members in that band?
>>126939430Its always been the Liam and Noel show + those other guys from the start, they know what they were getting with this tour, theyโve all spent years in the band before, besides the drummer.
>>126938835no glasto next year.
>>126939410Ironically Alanโs brother Steve is the best drummer Iโve seen them play with. Heโs an absolute thumper and gave a new dimension to their songs.

>>126935678 (OP)so how was the show? how was the chemistry between liam and noel, did they interact at all during the show?
>>126937514Bassed and Andy Bell-pilled
Noel singing the last chorus on Stand By Me feels like an admission of defeat to all the fans who stan Be Here Now.
>>126942596Heโs been defeated by everyone and everything, he said he would take the feud to his grave and look at him now. Utter defeat.
>>126942678They're both too old to keep feuding like they're still 19. Also alimony's a bitch.
>US leg starts
>everyone leaves after wonderwall
>>126942823They put it as one of the last songs for a reason lol
>>126942823My ass. Amerilard ticket holder here. Columbia & Fade Away or I fuckin riot.
>>126942596Noel secretly loves Be Here Now. He's just bitter about that time period for some reason.
Liam said it himself:
"... there are a lot of sheep out there, arenโt there? And if the main guy [Noel] says, โOh, itโs fuckin' this and that,โ a lot of people not using their own minds say, โYeah, I agree.โ If Noel had said itโs the best thing ever, Iโm sure itโd have gotten a different fuckin' reception. The reason why he didnโt like it is because it reminds him of a not-so-good time with his ex-wife. Thatโs fine. Thatโs his prerogative."
>>126946448Actually all the criticisms of Be Here Now are cop-outs and cliches. Because the production is basically the same as on the first 2 albums, it's just slightly more dense, that's all. And all those first 3 albums have hardly any bass.
Anyway, no one whinges and moans when My Bloody Valentine overdub a million guitar tracks on Loveless to get a massive sound. But when Oasis do it it's overindulgence and over-the-top because they're in the box of "pop-rock" and nothing out of the box they do could ever be accused of having artistic merit.
Friendly reminder that Noel is a Redditbob fan.
>>126937875for me it's Zak Starkey
>>126936592It's a one sided feud. Noel is the cunt and Liam is just a harmless retard.
love them or hate them, no other 90s iconbands are still doing it as well
>>126937086As far as the general public is concerned Oasis broke up in 1998 and Noel probably wants to keep it that way.
RKID CANT POSSILE A BEE THIS CUTWAII x
>>126937193Roll With It was a bit of a surprise because Noel has never really liked it and they rarely played it after the 90s. Cast No Shadow was also kind of unexpected.

Anyway, surprised on how good they were sounding in Cardiff. Let's see if they can hold it together for the entire tour.

Richard Ashcroft was a pretty good support act but they are one of the most forgettable britpop bands that still makes music somehow
>>126962513I get the feeling they're going to shake up the setlists as the tour progresses. The Manchester and London shows are going to run too long for them to just keep playing the same stuff every night. Cardiff was just the warmup.

The Smiths were offered 300 million to reform in 2024, according to johnny marr on skysports last month.
So why wouldn't the Gallaghers be offered the same as morrissey n marr? Obviously there's mire novelty money in a Smiths reunion as they're the only British guitar band that's never reformed and they're trendy with zoomers (biggest Spotify streams in the 80s UK genre)
but the G bros are the cultural icons of a time period everyone's obsessed with (90s UK). The tie in addidas merchandising was a genius move. That's British consumerism in a nutshell. Warm beer and Waysis tickets and me softshell jacket I blew ยฃ250.00 on to look like Liam

The cash in tour will come. No one can resist that much $$$$$.
>>126935678 (OP)chingchong
which one of them is the shit head?
>>126968601>>126969398There was a rumor going around last year that they actually made up like 18 months earlier and just kept up the mouthing off in public to keep the reunion plans secret.
>>126972295Both have pissed off the Chinese massively at one point or another, truly they are brothers.
>>126972341in retrospect, I truthfully believe they made up quite some time ago and have been carefully planning their revival starting from 2019 with the 25th anniversary of definitely maybe. every subsequent year since then has had an anniversary rerelease (wtsmg 2020, bhn 2022, masterplan 2023) or a new gallagher album (liam with why me why not, his acoustic album, cmon you know, and the john squire albums + his live albums, nghfb with council skies + his compilation album). in 2020 they also pulled out the first "new" oasis song in 15 years (Don't Stop) which ever since has seemed like a teaser to something greater.
then in 2021 they released the knebworth live album/documentary/official concert recordings in 2021 which were all about capturing how monumental and special oasis were live. look at what they talk about in that documentary with the reunion tour now in swing. how indefinable they were back then, how they were "the last of something", how their gigs were "once in a lifetime events that meant so much to so many people."
by summer of last year with the 30th of definitely maybe it seemed like something was about to happen which is right when the announcement came. everything they did over the last 5 years was solely buildup to get their relevance back, make it into the charts again, create nostalgia, and grow a new audience that would be willing to pay whatever it took to see a once in a lifetime band again. of course noel's divorce might've played into the matter but I truly wonder now if it might be because noel and liam started talking again.
>>126972954Maybe. I knew Noel was feeling it since he did That Pedal Show podcast a couple years back. He's giddy as a school girl playing & talking about them old songs.
Coincidentally, your timeline matches up when I started getting back into rock, particularly Oasis. Was a huge fan in the 90s, I dropped off & didn't pick it back up until a couple years ago.
Seems like a lot of people did & there was something in the air. You didn't know what it was, but you were going with it anyway. Maybe Oasis is one of those bands that sorta lives in the shared ether of our minds, and we all willed a reunion into existence. I'm American BTW, so it doesn't just live w the Brits (my family is all Brits tho).
>>126969586for 30 years i have only owned and played strats and tele's but always wanted an epi because of waysis and rooftop lennon however the ones i play at the shop or from buddies seem to feel like cheap shit ready to fall apart i suppose they are good for open chords but the intonation was horrid let alone the mathematical equations it feels like i am solving when wanting to turn up the volume for a solo.

Biblical weekend ahead lads
>>126977330The Manchester crowd better not disappoint...we'll have to bulldoze the whole city if they do.
>>126977511Innit full of brownies anyway these days? I reckon all the whites in Manchester will turn up to big O.

>>126977330Couldn't get tickets to any of the Heaton Park shows but I'm going town on Saturday. I'll be playing songs off of Standing on the Shoulder of Giants on the pub jukebox to make up for it.

newer acquaintance i was watching the playoff games with won't talk to me anymore because he was droning on and on in his liberal mind rot ways when i dared reply one day with 'Carney is the saviour and is going to fix this mess? he was a main Trudeau ear whisperer maybe even the decision maker behind the scenes'. that made him throw a hissy fit and call me a white supremacist right winger. all true but i didn't even bite on his other liberal mind rot spewed shit CBC verbatim talking points. one time i said 'i believe you believe it' in regards to the moon landing or something irrelevant. so he said to my other buddy he can't be in the same room with me now because he thinks i think i am the smartest person in it. again true but never once did i reveal my power level. not even one remark towards Evander Kane when buddy was continually questioning why he is so quick to anger and aggression.
>>126984749oops wrong thread.
>>126935678 (OP)Feels like Oasis fans are extremely devoted and vocal about it being the best band in the universe, I find them ultiamtely forgettable and I doubt anyone will think of them in 10 years. Not trying to be contrarian, they really do have some great songs, but overall their cultural impact is limited to Wonderwall and maybe Stop Crying Your Heart Out.
>>126985010Theyโve been MIA for 16 years and instantly sold out a stadium tour. Also most Oasis fans call them the best band in the world very tongue in cheek.
>>126982009"Once you've seen an Oasis gig, you've seen all of them"
>>126985314i feel the stadium tour 'sellout' was literal indian bots or something. maybe not the cardiff and manchester shows. but in north america i envision 50dollar tickets the day before and 70% filled stadiums.
there are too many high quality youtube vids to watch. my buddy with tickets to toronto already wants to offload them he feels he has already watched the show.
>>126982018Just a formality I assume

What are Blur thinking right now watching their arch-rival have a massive world tour 30 years later?

>>126987245Based and Norf-pilled
>>126978137Fingers crossed we don't get another Ariade Grande/Manchester Arena event lads. I can see this being the kind of thing terrorists would target. Blowing up an oasis concert? The ultimate attack on white culture.
And given the current political climate its not unlikely. ISIS tried to target a Taylor Swift concert in Germany last year.
>>126993209Don't see how its even possible these days unless glowies are working the event, or tons of low IQ brown immigrants that can't even English...oh shit.
>>126977283The Smiths have more Spotify streams than Oasis. Zoom zooms love them. Theyre more popular than The Cure.
Morrissey did 1 night last month at the Manchester Co op to 20,000 people. Sold out in a couple of days. The man is a mancunian Elvis, as Liam puts it.
Plus Johnny Marr will probably be making a guest appearance at the Oasis Manchester shows. Noel has done smiths covers at shows and keeps talking about how he wants to play backup guitar on a reunion tour. all helps raise the profile.
Boomers on here have no idea how popular they are with under 25s. plus the oldheads and people who missed them 1st time around. Nostalgia sells and they have a strong image/songs. Plus the allure of seeing a band who influenced everyone else and who have never reformed - the novelty will draw all the Glastonbury crowd who want to say they were there when it happened.
Would they sell out Heaton Park? Obviously not, because chavs don't listen to intelligent well crafted pop music. It's chavs and the General Population who buy Oasis tickets. You can't really compare the two.
But they'd definitely clean up on a world tour and do 20k venues in the UK.
Morrissey's fan base in America is bigger and more dedicated than Oasis. It's why he's worth 50 million despite not being 'famous' like Liam and Noel. Smiths will reunite and it will be huge. Watch this space.
>>126991681>>126992802Gorillaz have way more iconic and recognizable songs than Oasis
