Crazy to think that Kim Gordon was already in her 50s when Sonic Youth made it big.

Who are some other artists that found success later in life?

remember: David Geffen the highest ranking occult priestess at the time told her to wear dresses with no bra and makeup and bounce around on stage or he wouldn't send their recordings to the ritual room where they summon demons onto the magnetically documented master tapes guaranteeing success.

They should just reform without her. She was the shittest member of the band anyway. 90% of the time her singing sounded completely retarded.

She wasn't bad in the 80s when she was using more of a half-spoken style and their music was more atmospheric. Songs like Beauty Lies in the Eye, Pacific Coast Highway, The Sprawl, etc.
Once they went for a more direct sound in the 90s, she started screeching like an actual spastic over everything. I can't tolerate it and skip most of her songs on the 90s-00s albums.
They could manage without her but they'd need a suitable replacement. That nerd from Pavement doesn't even cut it on bass, never mind contributing creatively, doing vocals, or having any charisma.

It's not listed anywhere, but I've always heard that as Kim and Thurston singing in unison with Thurston's vocal turned down low in the mix. He wrote it and sang it in live performances, so she probably sang over his vocal take for the album version.
But yeah, she does sound good on that one.
