Rescene does well in album sales for a nugu from a small company. They make good music with lots of replay value. Producer is talented at picking songs and writers/arrangers and executing concepts on a budget.
It's not a flash in the pan style like a babymonster/illit. They don't do agressive girlcrush or bouncy hyperpop or vocal focused anthem songs. The members are cute and sexy, but they're not very memeable. They're kind of a slow burn group where most people who listen to their music on first try think "this is really good!" but without an introduction they tend to get passed over for attention as people look to flashier groups.
They haven't hit the one breakout tiktok friendly 15 second hook song.
They have 2 strong belting vocalists and 3 soft and husky vocals. Their songs have started to give Liv and Minami more moments to flex vocals which I hope we'll see more of.
The style they cultivate so far is very soft and feminine with the whole scent and memory concept and their music has aligned with it. They have a lot of dreamy fluffy songs with bits of RnB here and there.
They have no weak visuals but apart from their predebut shoots and maybe Glow Up era their looks haven't made waves.
They don't goonbait but Minami sometimes drops a few crumbs and Woni's wardrobe stylist knows she kills in hot pants. Liv has a body that can compete with Jihyo and Jeewon but there's no sign they want her to be a waterbomb queen. May wants to goonbait but she's too young and the label is responsible with her.
TLDR they have all the foundations of what could be a big group but their marketing, concept, and their musical style don't align with a meteoric rise like a new jeans or a visual/high fashion-driven success like blackpink. They just need the one earworm breakout song that can cement a broad group of new fans.
