Some fans dislike WP because its their "selling out" album being their last one on a major label and they went for a late 90s/early 00s commercial radio sound, but i think personally that's what makes it their best. Quebec is more "Ween" in the sense that it's more them going back to their roots but i always like them best when polished in the studio and going for a more conventional angle

The grew into a more mature sound with white pepper and with Quebec it sounded like they were treading backward with stupid shit like "fucked jam". And some of it is just more bland and not as melodic as white pepper. Really good album in retrospect and I'm glad it exists since there was only 1 more full ween album after and that's it forever so its just nit picking. But that's how I felt at the time
