Thinking about this used MIM strat that is being sold by a business that is dedicated for selling used guitar gear. 21 frets, very good condition for being a used, rosewood fretboard. 3 single coils. Price is around 560 eur.

I was thinking I could still use a single coil guitar and the strat might scratch that itch

Nah that was the Notadumble, and the moment he discontinued it, it became legendary so I'm still not 100% sure he's not creating brand lore with shit like that. Pretty sure he intentionally deigns lawsuit pedals for the same reason. I think that's funny desu.
He's re-releasing the Notadumble with the intended circuit intact but the old one is already skyrocketing in price. Mission accomplished I guess.

I've made some progress on finding the perfect configuration. I have two amplifiers. one is stereo. three speakers. i put the Strymon Timeline in the FX loop of both amps, with each amp taking one side of the delay unit. and i put the Strymon Big Sky in between the preamp and the power amp of the stereo amplifier.

That's crazy high. The neck socket looks straight though. Is it up the neck too or just the bottom? The bottom is more than likely a saddle/bridge raise. The upper neck would more than likely be truss rod. Not always as a rule. Sometimes it's a little bit of both, but you should adjust the saddles for now.

It rapes the player 2 in build quality and QC, Iโ€™ve played dozens of both, they come nowhere close. Mine has a maple fretboard, I already had a 2004 with a rosewood fretboard. Player II is a step down in quality across the board, especially the offsets. QC and build quality has and will only continue to get worse as time goes on, itโ€™s not a matter of opinion. Muh teething issues sounds like a parroted youtuber opinion.

I would say get a nitro finish, but some old poly finish guitars show interesting wear and tear too. It just takes longer and does it differently. Like at some old 70s Fenders. They don't look new..but not beat to hell either. Probably a good sign what will happen to your guitars..but double the time. Like 50 years.

could be the neck is just totaled.
could be you need to adjust the truss rod
could be the strings are too high gauge, hard to tell from the photo but i doubt that's it
is it like the 'relief' in picrel?, look down the side of the fretboard from the headstock end and you should be able to tell pretty quickly what you're working with
Anonymous No.126981421

the mono amp is always dry of the stereo reverb, but both amplifiers share the same stereo delay. you may want to add dry signal to reverb, but, you control wet/dry of delay on the delay itself. reverb should have all the headroom, so it's perfect in between a stereo pre and a stereo power amp. delay is perfect between two amps.

Finally got around to playing with my knockoff PRS from ebay.
Its humbuckers still have the plastic wrap on them and it seems like it'll be a pain in the ass to remove the wrap without taking the strings off.
It's got a synthetic fretboard. I can hear the string scrape across it when I do bends. The frets themselves feel smooth so I don't think it's scraping on them but I could be wrong. The pickups don't seem to capture the fretboard scraping.
It buzzes around the 12th fret, so I'll get to learn where its truss rod is pretty soon. Hopefully it's where it ought to be and I can tighten it a bit.
It doesn't sound quite as warm or full as my actual PRS and it's not definitely NOT as pleasant feeling to play. But it's got a nice spunky tone in its own way. I don't feel ripped off at $250 provided I can get rid of the buzzing mids without swapping them out for buzzing F chords.

Not exactly, chords are typically used to harmonize a melody but both can exist independent of the other. For instance plainchant (monk songs) have a single line of melody without any harmony.

Even when strumming and singing a typical campfire guitar song, you're not going to switch to a new chord for every single note in the melody. Many of these will be non-chord tones which give a melody its character but on their own might be dissonant with the underlying chord. Certainly you can harmonize every single note in a melody, but in Western popular music we tend to stick to relatively few chords (I-IV-V-I e.g.) and a melody working atop them.

That helps a bit but just to clarify:
Melody and arpeggios are independent?
An arpeggio would be playing a chord one note at a time, and melody would just be playing notes in a key without a direct relationship to a chord?
For example, I could play a G major chord then play notes independent of that chord but in the G major key.
Not sure if harmony is supposed to be confusing like this or I'm just overthinking it.

melody is just the cadence including the tempo and pitch of a particular string of notes. they can be in or out of the key. a lot of nursery rhymes are 2-3 note melodies

yeah, but a little goes a long way, you can have one note that forms a chord with the melody playing simultaneously like this https://youtu.be/QPJUQg_U5HY and https://youtu.be/aY-CEFD8X1Q

it's like a square and rectangle. an arpeggio could technically be considered a melody but the way they are typically played and the context they are used in, they are not typically considered melodies. they're mostly just trying to outline the chord in a more rhythmic way.

A lot of traditional music is made without chords, either single-voice (as I said above) or with a single drone note beneath a melody (think bagpipes). Chords are typically used to give the melody a 'direction', establishing the key and creating tension/release. If you play the verse to Smells Like Teen Spirit on guitar and sing the melody, you're technically only playing an F5 (so not a full triad) and the vocals are defining the key as minor.

22 years. Iโ€™m not the sharpest or cleanest but I can figure out anything I feel like by ear in most cases, have 20 years worth of riffs and songs, played in half a dozen bands and played some good shows in front of a couple hundred people. I feel pretty good with where Iโ€™m at, which is as a hobbyist whoโ€™s retired the dream of being a full time musician before it got sad and desperate. I have old friends who still beat the horse and I donโ€™t begrudge them, but playing your teenage or early 20s music in your mid 30s is rough if you havenโ€™t really gotten anywhere with it. Whatโ€™s funny is I got significantly better at guitar after I stopped expecting more than a good time out of it.

Yep, itโ€™s a bit of a finicky plank for what it cost but it sure is a vibe. Total Chinesium though, the trem arm snapped off when I took it off to shorten it up, that being said Epiphone actually overnighted me a whole Tremotone assembly when I called and asked for the bolt that broke. It plays better now after a setup and acclimating to my house but doesnโ€™t hold tune as good as my worst fender. The Mini humbuckers sound pretty awesome though, between that, the chunky neck and the aesthetic I donโ€™t regret it.

I think you set the gain in the effect/amp you have selected even though its for input not output. It's a little weird but it works. If you want to DI the Go, put it in Tuning mode and it bypasses the effects processor completely.

There is, but you have to connect it to a phone to actually use it. You can have a whole pedal chain emulated in it, worth it to install the app. Oh yeah, there's an "acoustic" amp, and it's on a preset "for acoustic". You can also put acoustic guitar sim in a MOD pedal slot.
