push it with a driver to tighten it up a little bit if you want to get super modern doomy
but if you want to maintain the stoner vibe, get a digital delay, a multifunction reverb, an octave fuzz and some sort of modulation. univibe is a fun option that doesn't get utilized as often as it used to, but it's suited to what you're looking for.

Depends. In some ways it's more helpful. If you can gradually increase the tempo of a drum track then it accomplishes the same as a metronome, but learning rhythm is more than just timing, you need to know how to split the beat, play behind the beat, and play off the beat. all are easier to learn with a drum track than a simple metronome.
and then you need to throw both away and play with a real drummer to learn what a pocket feels like.

Don't standard 3 in 1, get the stuff labeled for electric motors. It doesnt have additives or detergents in it. 3 in 1 doesn't play well with brass or copper. The electric motor 3 in 1 is just 20wt machine oil/ISO VG 68 which is what you want.

I got to dick around with a used chinese tele at guitar center, not bad overall but the v-shaped neck was weird and the pickups sounded REALLY muddy, bass scooped across 3 amps I tried it on. We now live in a world where normies can easily get fooled by generative AI voices, and even people with years of exposure to generative audio can now be tricked occasionally with a very good prompter and program. I suspect by next year it should have totally indistinguishable quality with no artifacts, and accurate emulation of all the mannerisms of a person's voice.

With that being the case, what is the gearfag cope going to be when AI amp and pedal software reaches a similar level of quality? Surely you've got one prepared already, and if not, it's worth thinking about. It's going to be very challenging to defend your expensive funko pop collection when even seasoned old gearfags like Rick Beato are admitting that the AI emulation sounds identical.

I’m honestly happy with my Mustangs. I had a JM for a few years and I’ve never really felt like I’ve wanted another, I liked my Strat better than it so if I were to ever buy another I’d probably just come to the same conclusion that I’d just prefer one of the Strats I already have. I’d like a Jag but I also am not terribly into how bright they are. I like that they have a sound that they do well and I like the offset vibrato but I’d hate to spend a couple grand on one just to never really click with a lot of the sounds they’re known for. With the Mustang they’re kind of Strat-ish which is familiar territory sound wise but also they’ve got their own sound too, just about everything about them I love. They’re the only offset I need

I do these things for my own entertainment, I have no goal with this. I jam with my fiancé, I run with my dog and I drink with my friends. Becoming a successful musician is of equal importance to me as becoming a successful drinker, it doesn’t make any sense in my context. I buy stuff I like because it’s trivial amounts of money for things that I derive joy from. Not everything has to have a point, I’m doing things for the sake of doing them. I started skateboarding again recently, I’ll never become professional or probably even good, but it’s fun

I'm pining after a vintage Mustang myself desu. Especially since they're still relatively cheap compared to vintage JM's and Jags. Maybe someday..

My 1977 was sub $1500 and I can’t be happier with it. I was expecting an ash boat anchor but it’s a hair over 7 pounds. Don’t sleep on 1970s Fenders but also be aware of potential issues they could have (oversized neck pockets are a common one). There was a 1966 Mustang locally for $2800 that was a good player grade mustang but still $3k for one is hard to swallow. I’d gladly buy another 1970s one for sub $2k if I were after another one

The same thing that makes every young guy on a Guitar suck ass and sound like 1 to 1 copies of each other. They just learn some shit off YouTube, jerk off to it a bit, and never apply it meaningfully in a song's context. It's why these guys never write albums, and if they do they suck ass because it's lazy use of complex technique with no grasp of good songwriting. (See also Ramparts413 or literally any wankstain doing TikTok Guitar shit.)

I dont know anything about japanese music but I do know all of traditional chinese music is in the pentatonic scale (they dont play chords so their music can be just pentatonic). If you go on youtube and search for traditional chinese instrumental music and put it on 2x speed it sound just like a country music guitar player jamming out
