yea that's not ironic. irony would be kurt cobain wearing a shirt that said "we're sellouts" while giving a thumbs up.

>Sellout
What is it like being 90 years old and still here?

It's funny how all these alt bands that boasted about being “indie” in the early 90s they all ended up signing with major labels.
Anonymous No.126996562 [Report]

Pavement and Fugazi refused lucrative offers from major labels. Other bands like Smashing Pumpkins and Ween never cared about being "underground" or "indie" anyway they just wanted to record great sounding records in a nice studio with good equipment

Oh no! Is that why he killed himself 2 years later?! If only he had the resilience of Kevin R. Nash

Wait what? What is so important about how people in the 1990s "perceived" Nirvana and why would the government care? This reads like pure retarded schizobabble

'fraid so. If only Kurt would have joined the nWo he might still be with us

I'm going to assume you are a zoomer asking in good faith but basically Nirvana wasn't really popular until after Kurt killed himself. Many younger millinials and zooms have been conned by the internet into thinking Nirvana was some huge phenomena back in the day when that was never the case people who were alive and into music back then can attest to this

That’s all true but what about the rape?
Anonymous No.126997267 [Report] >>126997390
Here's an old meme from the very small Nirvana fanbase back in the day. You can find similar memes from 10+ years ago showing that nobody outside of Nirvanas very small fanbase knew them. They were a niche band.

So you're suggesting it wasn't until the 2010s that Nirvana had any fans? This has to be bait
Anonymous No.126997415 [Report] >>126998448
>>126997390
No. I'm saying that Nirvana was nowhere near as popular in Kurt's life as they were after. They have astronomically more zoomer fans then they ever did any other generation.

>Nirvana was nowhere near as popular in Kurt's life as they were after
false, in fact his death marked the end of grunge and a decline in popularity for nirvana's music

I was alive then. Nevermind was a big record, huge. It’s pretty much what changed hair metal into grunge. They did In Utero to curb everyone’s enthusiasm, and that’s when most lost interest. I would say you’re partly right that they got more popular after Kurt died but they had a peak which was high before that. now listen to Kaija Saariaho

> "Ironic" describes a situation or statement where the literal meaning is different from, or even opposite to, the intended or expected meaning, often with a humorous or contradictory effect
Being a sellout while wearing a sellout shirt isn't ironic, it's literal. Now shut up and get back to cleaning my pool, you ESL shitstain.

I don't know, but they wrote some of the genuine worst music that I have ever heard in my life, and I'm not trying to be edgy or upsetting at all when I say that. There is a good likelihood that this is in fact the most overrated band that ever existed going solely off of the disparity between their success and the quality of their art.
