Physical media is really cheap unless you're a genre tourist who wants the most prominent albums from each genre. I buy lesser known jazz albums for $15-20 including tax all the time. And that's just ebay. I pick up albums at the flea market every month. If you like classical, it's almost impossible to spend more than a dollar on an album

Unironically why bother with vinyl, do you guys really like the artwork and experience that much? Is it worth the hissing and crackling? PBTHAL and others rip a ton of stuff in high quality anyway, especially when the vinyl master is somehow better. Beats spending a bunch of money on equipment and discs; I couldn't afford vinyl even if I wanted to.

What do you want to pay? I bought most of my albums between 2005-2015, when prices on top albums were about half of what they are now and you could still find albums worth taking at thrift stores. To buy a VG+ album for $15 is great when the shipping and tax are $5. I find zoomer entitlement around hobbies weird. You niggers caused the price increases and complain aboit them the most

Even more pointless than vinyl assuming it's been ripped, at least vinyl can be unique. Redacted, Orpheus, soulseek, and deezer ripping should cover nearly all of it.

And what’s so funny is that modern vinyl pressings are just digital transfers. They just burn the digital music to a vinyl disc. And people will gladly pay $40+ when the CD or download is the exact same minus dust and scratches.

Sure, just keep downloading crap. Just press the button and get instant gratification. Endless slop. We live and die for the slop, don’t we folks?

It's the same as the CD... so beats paying for slop. Most have liner notes and hq scans of the artwork included. You could press your own CD if you wanted.
