very underrated album, and a better album on average than The Wall (although The Wall has the better standout tracks)
very sensitive and introspective instead of flashy and filled with le epic guitar solos, so gilmour drones can't appreciate it
as a matter of fact, this album mogs post-Waters Floyd and Gilmour's entire solo career
although it certainly feels more like a solo Waters album than a PF album

It has the absolute worst transitions that had ever appeared on a Pink Floyd album at the time of its release, which is shocking being that Pink Floyd excelled above all other bands in that area previously. It's also shocking how bad the songwriting is given that Waters had written many great songs on previous albums, writing the Wall almost singlehandedly. Very few people who express your opinion truly hold it, because this is a very poor album.

It was a low point for Waters as a songwriter, and it just so happened to coincide with the one time he got to write an entire Pink Floyd album all by himself.

I've recently realized that Waters is seriously complaining about UK government daring to respond to an invasion of British territory by a militaristic dictatorial regime. In light of modern political landscape, it has really soured my view on the idea of the album.

No one believes that.
>destroys the band
Roger already did that during The Wall sessions.
>never mentioned, ever
Roger still play songs from the album on his tours.

>>127009163
>although it certainly feels more like a solo Waters album than a PF album
Roger wanted to release it as a solo album but their label at the time refused.

Amused to Death has one lyric about his dad, and it's not even the point of the song it's in. The album a Saucerful of Secrets is more of a concept album about Roger's dad dying than Amused to Death, because the one song on that album that mentions his dad actually is about him.

Amused to Death is mostly about WWII, which always ties in directly with his dad. Same as The Wall did with some songs and the movie too.

What's funny is Gilmour now regrets releasing Endless River, claiming he was at the behest of the record label. Imagine your head being so far up your own ass at age 80.

So now if he's writing about anything that correlates with his dad in any way then it's the same thing as always singing about his dad. He was a part of the silent generation and grew up in post-WWII England. Why is he specifically forbidden from singing about the war?

You're also wrong about Amused to Death. It's mostly about the media and people getting hypnotized by entertainment and made docile.

He's not and that isn't what I was saying at all, only doing it for multiple albums and songs is pretty tiresome. Same as if some faggot made every song and album about a specific ex-gf or something.

You're lying about those three albums being about one subject. I don't even think you've heard Amused to Death. Having one line in an album barely mention something does not make that the subject of the entire album. I hate idiots like you.

His wife is also to blame, she's a Yoko-type histrionic.

>Waters was critical of the song, saying it "lacked humanity" and constituted a "content-less waving of the blue and yellow flag" rather than an explicit call for the war to end.
I generally don't like Waters but this was accurate.

Neil Postman's book Amusing Ourselves to Death is what inspired ol Reg.
Alot of those tracks were from his Kaos II demos which he eventually scrapped.

To slightly digress, Project Kaos is a fleshed out fan version of the OG Kaos. Duly recommended as it is more expansive than the original album, with Roger's insane melancholic trip.
This album got me thru a break up in the summer of 2018, that melancholic saxaphone takes me back to the desolate heat of the night.
