>metalheads unironically believe Tony Iommi was the first musician in centuries to use the flat five
>metalheads unironically believe the tritone was banned by the Church in the Middle Ages and you could get burned at stake for composing a piece employing it
seriously why are they so completely illiterate when it comes to Western music theory and yet so confident?

what's the point of this post? Iommi invented metal that's fact.

It is more important to be originary than original.

I don't particularly care for Tony Iommi and I do not care who 'invented' metal, because the discrepancy between first wave 'heavy metal' and extreme metal subgenres is so absurdly large that there's no connection and I only enjoy the latter anyways. For all intents and purposes, first wave metal bands and hard rock are interchangeable and there's nothing particularly 'heavy' about the former. Besides that, Iommi is not an impressive guitarist. Granted, he wrote memorably, hooky riffs, but that's about it.

Metalheads and popfags in general aren't the brightest.

The tritone fags are the worst because of how absurd their proposition is. You can debunk that with 3 minutes of research.

Metallica invented extreme metal with Kill 'Em All, the first real thrash release.

>why are they so completely illiterate when it comes to Western music theory?
most non-musicians are and most people are non-musicians
>and yet so confident?
unwarranted confidence is Americans' superpower, so guessing those are all Americans
