Many Italian bands do share a similar sound. But it's not enough for it's own genre. Plenty of non-Canterbury (even non-English) bands have made Canterbury albums, because it is a real genre. If RPI was an actual genre, then there would be at least one non-Italian band that has made an RPI album. But there isn't because it's a meme genre. I will give PA props for finding a couple symphonic Italian bands that they don't classify as RPI, but there should be more if it wasn't a meme genre.
