what are the chances of me playing a solo like this if i started learning guitar at 28 years old? any late bloomers here that can do something like this? not on princes level but just like an understanding of solo's and how to do them. stuff like this gives me life. I know im far from this but the idea of being able to play like this makes me wanna keep going. the dirty mac song is soo fucking goood

everything helps to do that somewhat. in my experience training your ear and composing are the two biggest benefactors to finding your sound. there are dedicated ear training exercises but everything you do on guitar will be training your ear. you'll also need technique to be able to play some stuff that is in your head. that's where i'm at right now, there are a lot of percussive ideas in my head that i can't quite execute yet

I think he's doing it the right way, even if you just started learning if you picked up an instrument with the intent to make music that should be in the forefront of your mind from the start.
You don't need to be EVH to make a good song, you just need to be good enough to be able to express yourself in a way that resonates with other people.

download pirated ableton 12 from rutracker right now and start making your tracks. try not to get stuck in loops, make structure, ableton is great for that with its session view, then you can lay down the track in arrangement view. depending on your music tastes you can also download EZdrummer, Kontakt and different libraries. Also, don't get stuck in your room, get your friends into music or meet other musicians to jam with

With rapidly diminishing returns. I took this road, and it almost killed me and I have false teeth before the age of 50. I did write some great songs and they got better the deeper I got but eventually youโ€™re so consumed with staying well that you donโ€™t have time for writing songs. It also took a long time to get my creative mojo back once I sobered up. The juice isnโ€™t worth the squeeze, if youโ€™re lucky you can dabble in drugs occasionally but thatโ€™s pretty rare the older you get.

This is such a retarded outlook.
Unironically getting opinions on music from musicians that've played their entire life is your own reckoning.
They'll tell you this song sucks because they would've done this instead and normal people will just see you as bitter and pretentious.
No one cares about how fast you can play or how many barre chords are in a song if they don't like the music.

Fret buzz means string is touching higher frets when it vibrates, they are too close, it's not a filing issue, but a setup issue. Set relief first, then adjust bridge, if bridge adjustment is impossible or extreme, shim neck to point closer or farther from the body.

i'm guessing he means there's two types of people typically using recording software: producers that either mess with existing tracks or build synthesizers one by one. personally as a musician i just want to be able to plug in, set my sound level and start recording. it's not that simple in most audio software. ableton lite was pretty easy for me except the monitoring; i just started a new track and adjusted the gain or whatever it's called. haven't used it in a few years

It depends on the state of charge of the battery. If it's got juice, no problems. When it runs out, things will stop working. If pedal has a physical bypass, you can take it out then, but if it's buffering, it will kill the signal for good.

a beefy power supply with actual isolated outputs, fed isolated and conditioned power, with everything on one circuit, is all you can really do to minimize your noise floor as far as power goes. most pedal supplies are not isolated and most that are isolated are gonna have fans in them.

you should stop thinking like that. i also sometimes do because i started at 19, but most musicians after 20th century were pushed by record companies because that's what sells to young people. of course brain plasticity is a thing and you'll have to work harder than a 5 year old prodigy. although it sounds like coping, for me that was always kind of a wind in the back, striving to always be better

Guitar player here. If you have the talent and the drive to improve, youโ€™ll make it happen. The most important thing at the first stage is to learn how to play rhythm. You do this by learning your favorite songs and playing along with them until you feel the groove. Many amateurs make the mistake of starting doing solos without getting the sense of rhythmic playing first, thatโ€™s why they sound like dogshit and canโ€™t go nowhere from there. Itโ€™s never too late to start playing guitar, I started learning to play bass when I was 34. Thatโ€™s me after two years of playing:

I'd say learn the scale all over the neck. Eliminate the connection to boxes. Know the scale on the whole neck. Learn how chords are constructed. The 1st 3rd and 5th. Remember when it comes to theory alot of people are trying to say the same thing in different ways. Noticing keys that share some of the same chords, noticing how the same chord operates differently in different keys. Just like how changing the scale you are playing over a static chord operates differently. Being able to arpeggiate a chord anywhere on the neck. It's very satisfying being able to play any idea at any time or place on the guitar.

First poster was right. Learn your intervals. Also learn triads for each chord -- the root, third and fifth. These notes define the chord, the rest of the notes are essentially window dressing. If you know the triads for each chord and you know their positions on the neck, you can play with chord shapes at will.
have fun dude.

The opening of the track starts with a quivering reverbed synth. As the ukulele starts a gentle clicking rhythm. And the bass wanders meandering forming a sonic landscape. As I was wondering if the drums were in this one, suddenly the kick drum bursts like a dark cloud. And the voice came in like a beam piercing through the fog on a desolate winter night. And in its unfolding it taught us something we couldn't have known before. And something we can't speak in words. For we are but listeners. Of speakers, and of the hearts of men.

Notes blend together easier on humbucker guitars, it doesn't make any difference. Their tone is eq and compression maxed. You can get away with murder. And that's hard to pass up watching people mosh to club music.

And you can't aquire SOVL by shitting on your forbears. Every gen knew this. Every Karate dojo knew this. Zoomers think the answer to their problems is a clean slate and shitting on everyone before they even get started. And now they're old, never amount to jack shit.

Tone Glue only matters on acoustics.
Just like Tone Wood. lol
Hide specifically, since the sound vibrations apparently move through it easier than modern glues. But guitars that use hide glue tend to cost an arm and leg, because they're constructing with all kinds of old school techniques.

I remember trying to learn it early. I don't remember much now, but it's just Jimi's blues riffing. You could do it. It just sounds harder on a 12 string.
And of course, probably the most famous rock intro of all is a 12 String: Stairway to Heaven

The Les Paul originally was only produced between 1958 and 1960 and was only bought by jazz guitarists as rock music was very simple back then. It wasnt till rock guitarists in the 60s started buying them second hand and liking them that Gibson finally put them back into production in 1968

I was in a band in my late teens and early 20s, always regretted to never have taken lessons and just barely know what I'm doing.
I'm 36 now and I took a course this year and I can't believe how good I became in a few months' time.

it literally is never too late
