>>127033324 (OP) I've always thought it was a funny quirk about this board that so many people make bait threads that take popular records and talk shit about them in crass and flippant ways. Like what a waste of board space. Every thread should either be positive circlejerks and recommending music or constructive dialogue about an album to test consensus about a new or classic album etc. It's so uninteresting to just post "I don't like or understand this popular album" it's boring and less explorative than a positive conversation because no one is gonna change your mind and we can all enjoy what we want and dislike what we dislike. It's boring but people post this exact shit all day on here and it ruins the potential of this board. I have to scour the catalog to find an actually constructive or fun thread on here.
>>127033324 (OP) Scruffy said it best >They were not melodic fantasies (too little melodic emphasis), they were not jams (too calculated), and they were not symphonies (too low-key and sparse), but they were something in between. Emotions were hard to find inside the shapeless jelly, dark textures and sudden mood swings. He might be a contrarian faggot but he nailed it on the head why this band is just mediocre
>>127034302 >nothing for 15 minutes It's called a build-up so the crescendo hits you stronger. The more I listen to We Drift Like Worried Fire the more I like it.
Seen them live last year in Greece, one of the best nights of my life.
I remember listening to this album almost every day when I was like 16, to the point where it began to lose its "magic". So I decided to save listens only for special occasions like losing my virginity. Haven't listened to it in over 10 years now, don't even remember if its still good or not.

>>127038527 >He might be a contrarian faggot Just add 2 points to every album he rates a 6-6.5 or higher on and suddenly he seems as normal as everyone else.
>>127034270 >i don't understand the seethe It's just faggot /pol/shits shitting on them because the band hates Trump and republicans in general, which is good.
