no more than twice for me. maybe I'll give something a third go if it's been more than ten years since I last tried it

I never force myself to repeatedly relisten to something, but i may check it out again a couple weeks and have it suddenly "click"

Not all at once but sometimes I come back to an artist intermittently over the years and eventually am glad I did. Recently got really into Boredoms and Frank Zappa after coming back to them a handful of times over the last 15 years.

All the best music sounds like shit the first 55 times you listen to it. If you've never had something click on the 56th listen, you've never heard good music.

Autist here. I'll listen to a song 56 times and report back to the thread if you get dubs

When listening to an album, I’ll usually listen to it once (shocking), and if it wasn’t absolutely garbage, I’ll give it a second listen. Usually an album that I liked is in my weekly rotation, where I’ll listen to it several times. Eventually, it goes into my regular rotation, and I might buy a physical copy. If I wasn’t really into the album, I might make a note to relisten in a year if I feel like I could get more from it.
