Probably the highest vocal register in all of Ozzy's discography. It's almost a shame he sang so high (or the tape speed was manipulated idk) because he could not replicate them live, leading to many of them just being abandoned or relegated to a lame instrumental medley.

I can't help but notice you left off Technical Ecstasy and Never Say Die!

They get a lot of shit for not being "Sabbath-y" enough, but they're great albums. I don't care what anyone says (though Technical Ecstasy does have one or two duds, admittedly)

Sadly, many people consider those the two worst albums of the Ozzy era, but I feel they are highly underrated, especially Technical Ecstasy. I can even tolerate the synth on Back Street Kid. The worst song is Gypsy, and I actually LIKE Gypsy. And I don't care what anybody says, It's Alright is a good song.

Never Say Die is also good, especially the title track and Johnny Blade.

Sadly, at this point, the drugs had noticeably taken their toll, but I still feel those are good albums and shouldn't be so quickly dismissed.

Symptom Of The Universe is their best song period. It's the proto Painkiller, before Judas Priest tried to out play them in 1989 - 1990. Listen to both and you'll see the similarities

Out of all of Sabbath's albums, "Never Say Die!" is the only one I listen to at this point, or listen to the most. I completely wore all of Sabbath's records out when I started smoking weed in high school and can't listen to any of them anymore. Still amazing albums nonetheless; not saying I dislike the music obviously, just that if I've experienced them to their fullest capacity and much like every album I've abused, they become white noise when I put them on and no longer really grab me or move me like they used to. "Never Say Die!" was the only album of Sabbath's discography that survived the cut because I put it off for years, believing all the hype of the commercial and critical failure. Not to mention the band itself hated it.

I am glad I bought the hype, because it gave me some 'new-to-me' Sabbath to listen to these past few years, lol.

Yeah, I saw a video on You Tube where Bruce Dickinson started getting on people's cases about smoking pot wile the band was playing.
While I think he was a jerk for doing that, as a musician, I can see his point.
I mean some people are rater sensitive to the smell, they might get a "Contact high" and they might start messing up the songs.
I mean, hey, not every band is The Grateful Dead, or The Rolling Stones. Not every musician can get up on stage all fucked up out of their skulls and play a perfect, flawless concert. Fuck, if you wanna get high at an IM concert, eat some edibles or gummies before going in.

I vehemently, but respectfully disagree.
To me,it seemed like they ran out of ideas, and were just repeating a formula that had, so far, worked in their favor.
It's GOAT, but I think that Volume 4 is the LAST truly creative album.
By the time they recorded SBS, they had already became overworked junkies.
They were quickly becoming over exaggerated parodies of their former selves.
>And, as I said, the album is GOAT......

I fucking love that album but it's so musically different from anything the original lineup did that there's little point in bringing it up while discussing classic Sabbath. It might as well have been a completely different band (and personnel wise it was except for Iommi).
The best from the OG lineup is probably Paranoid or Sabbath Bloody Sabbath.
