Yeah the lifestyle was nearly all myth. And they all starved themselves and watched their weight and spent more time at clothing boutiques than bars. More time singing about living that life than living that life. There were a few bonafide self-destructors but those are the ones that did not make it or completely burnt up

Drinking more cures the hangover. Drinking heavily multiple days in a row is real easy. Just don't stop drinking.
Coke also kills whatever drowsiness you get from being hungover so the hard drugs makes it easier to binge drink

Have you ever gone on a bender ? The longer it goes and the more drugs and drinks you take, the more apocalyptic the comedown when it ultimately ends. It literally feels like the world is ending. Yes suicide Sunday is bad but far worse is washing up in the early afternoon of some miserable Tuesday. Shit can throw you off for months and years.

its just about tolerance. if you drink all the time you build tolerance and can drink more and still function. like if you banged up the same dose of heroin an addict takes every day, you'd OD.

I did not stop drinking for more than a few hours for 3 years straight in my early 30s. You can do it but by the time you stop you probably have regrets you want to drink away.
+ The hard drugs help keep them going by either stimulating or killing pain

A joint in the morning is ideal after getting plastered @ an open bar for the wedding reception. I was being too conservative around my family and ended up hurling in a parking garage trash bin after I was told that one of those gas station dollar hydration packs would fix my hangover.
