Why did they put 1 - 2 garbage throwaway tracks in all of their otherwise perfect albums? Are they retarded? Was it a joke?

I think, that like all other human beings, they were just imperfect.

You need a bottom of the barrell. If those tracks were left off, 1-2 other, considered better tracks would now be the throwaway garbage. Imagine if Metallica left all the filler off the Re/Load albums, leaving just 1 album of supposedly solid tracks. Doubtless, a couple of those would "bubble down" to the bottom and be considered filler.

I vehemently, but respectfully disagree.
The Beatles, I M H O, only had THREE bad songs throughout their entire career.
I can listen to almost ANY Beatles album from start to finish, without skipping ANY songs.

I'm sure there are plenty of Beatles songs I think are GOAT that you probably can't stand, but those are the three worst songs, I M H O, and I stand by that opinion.

This is why 'filler' needs to be included. Yellow Submarine is an iconic kids song and has probably created new generations of Beatle fans all on it's own. When I'm 64 is probably my dad's favourite Beatles song, and I grew up listening to it so often that I assumed it was one of their most popular songs and never questioned that.

They could have cut songs but it's more likely to be a net loss than gain, better to have a little extra filler than accidentally cut a great song or one that furthers their popularity somehow. The only filler I'd really support them cutting is a bunch of their early covers and replacing them with Lennon-Mccartney songs, whether that means including singles or songs they wrote for other artists, and maybe they could've turned the white album into a single album. But even then nobody can ever agree which songs to keep on it.
