I don’t understand how Coldplay’s tours are more successful as their albums get worse

You have to understand anon, the people who go watch these musicians live on tour and people who actually give a shit about music are almost two completely seperate, mutually exclusive markets. The Southwestern soccer moms taking their daughters to see acts like Pink are just there for the spectacle and theatrics, not for the music itself per se

not a fan but she has a bunch of hits and has a rep for putting on a high effort live show (flying around on wires and such)

it is nostalgia for women who were 14 when Pink came out. slightly dorks, unpopular unpretty teenage girls never forgot how pink represented them. now they go to pink concerts to relive feeling good and accepted as teenagers.

the concept of what constitutes a 'tour' is totally arbitrary.
i mean: do you think taylor was even on 'tour' during 'eras'? she'd just fly in and do stadium shows over the weekend in some city and fly home the rest of the week. some 'tour'.
there should be a better gauge of who is most packing them in than comparing some mega-celeb's fake 'tour' over four years with another mega-celeb's fake 'tour' over, say two years.

During the last two elections, Springsteen was hosting a radio station over here and coming up to the election, he made no secret about the fact that he wanted us to vote for the Democrats
To be clear: I'm living in Ireland and this station was only broadcasting in the Dublin area. Actual brainrot

Springsteen pretended to have COVID to cancel three gigs when he'd actually glued his wig on the wrong way.

Springsteen once said to his wife, "Who puts the yummy in your tummy, mummy...me or Bowie?" and when his wife said, "Well, I do like David Bowie..." he hit her in the face with a glass.

When Springsteen played in India, he tried to learn Hindi for "India rocks!" but accidentally said "India my impotence pills"
