i love this album because it's genuinely insane that prince did it at 19 and he plays everything (people say this about every album, but it's really the first four). that snare tone in particular is so dry, that's what i think of when the album comes to mind. but i can't pretend the slower ass tracks don't bog it down a bit and exist to fill out the album
supposedly a cover of send in the clowns was written down on the studio notes, i'd be interested if there was any existing outtakes that still exist
