I can't listen to this song anymore especially when high. It does things to me. It's insane how well he captured that feeling of youthful love and friendship.
probably the most nostalgic song of all time, i imagine you gotta be born mid 80s or later for that though
Smashing Pumpkins made the most nostalgic music imo.
>>127086549true I feel an immense nostalgia hearing Drown and Rhinoceros, wild the former wasnt on Gish
>>127086499 (OP)Growing up is realizing that Billy Corgan invented music.
Everything before him was just a precursor and everything since, a cheap imitation.
Thank you Big Tunes Billy!

>>127086804based Billy "I'm sorry to interrupt you again but I have a great story to tell you about that" Corgan
best 90s artist, possibly best ever
that's my favorite bald middle aged roided yet fat mens promoter, Billy Corgan
>>127087212I never listened to anything but the hits. I think im going to bine the discog
>>127086686>DrownMy favorite song ever. It really is a shame it wasn't on a proper album.
>>127086549>>127086686>>127086506these songs are bizarrely nostalgic

Could never understand why Aeroplane Flies High was left off of MCIS. It blows the absolute shit out nearly everything on it.
>>127089922many people get naturally filtered by siamese dream, but once you truly get it, you will realize that he concluded alternative
>>127090511I've by the way cried to this song and particularly this part several times in life. Listening to this song when drunk fucks me up every single time
>>127086499 (OP)>captured that feeling of youthful love and friendship.Thats why I never enjoyed this song
>>127090490I honestly thought that was the gateway album for the Pumpkins. Weird.
>>127091367It isn't. Most people can't get into the Pumpkins beyond the 3-4 most famous pop songs.
>>127086506This song brings nostalgia for gen x and early 80s millennials you faggot
imagine letting a song control you let alone a song sung by some whiny bald boomer lmao
>>127091523The Pumpkins peaked in the mid 90s. Music died shortly after. Don't know what you mean by bald boomer here
>>127090511For me this has always been about humanity's technological advancement and the idea that it's amazing but also isn't going fast enough
>>127091523Early Pumpkins is fucking divine. You have no sovl sir
I miss opening albums and looking through the booklet. I remember doing that with Mellon Collie.
>>127091523Gish/Siamese Dream/Mellon Collie is the greatest three album run in music.
Billy Corgan is a mile up his own ass.
Both things can be true at once.
As good an album as it is, there isn't a single song on MCIS that is anywhere near as good as Silverfuck.
Billy and James guitar tones are fucking legendary. I think they're the best in the era. It definitely contributes to that nostalgic feeling. There's just nothing around that time that was similar.
>>127091620Billy Corgan can also slap his bare boney ass on a snare drum and fart out a better song than 99.999999999% of the music industry combined in an effort to out do him.
madam zuzus has amazing food even if its vegan.
>>127092681>Billy and James guitar tones are fucking legendary. I think they're the best in the era.you might be right about that
this song makes my dad seethe. i remember when it would randomly play on the TV when i was a kind and he's like "what the fuck even is the point of this song? shit band with a shit name. the song is meaningless, the lyrics dont even maek sense. shakedown in 1979? what is that"
did my dad miss out on teen love? is that why he was mad i was piping my 13 year old gf in my room?
>>127091512It's made for early gen X like big billy. If you're born after '75 it's not really for you.
>SHAKEDOWN TWENTY TWENTY FIVE
>i WISH K-POP WOULD UNALIVE
>SHIT SONGS SOUND LIKE GOBBLEDEY-GOOK
>YOU AND I WILL PUKE
i literally didn't experience a single thing from that music video. i've never been to a party, or been out driving with friends, i've never caused a ruckus at a store or had romantic relationships. i didn't even have access to a car until this year at 22, but at this point i have no friends to do anything with. i do everything alone, to the point that i fear i've lost the ability to connect with other humans from being in solitude for so long. when i do go out with people i just feel deeply uncomfortable, like i don't belong or like this isn't right.
is this really how people lived? they didn't just rot in their bedroom from 12-20 years old?
>>127096055I think most people have never caused a ruckus in a store (although I have personally at a gas station a few times) but all the rest is pretty standard normie stuff for the 80s and 90s.
I didn't drive til 23 but my mates did long before me; we used to drive around getting stoned and throwing eggs at people. I didn't have a relationship til 32 though because I was the sperg in my group.
>>127086499 (OP)imagine if the guy didn't have the most annoying singing voice known to man. he'd a been unstoppable.
>>127096696Who would you have front the band?
>>127096055Most people are really boring and donโt want to experience things in that way.
>>127096055nobody cares faggot.
but anyways, billy irl seems to hate all his old associates, so it's just a dumb song that tries to romantacize youth, even tho when he was living it, he probably just constantly bickered with all the people he was around like most people that age do.
>>127086499 (OP)The mistake is looking for something to replace those lost moments.
As you see there's no one around. He's right. Shit's gone and nothing replaces it...you end up chasing mirages.
>>127086499 (OP)This is shit and he looks like Sinead o Connor
