So if you're rating the album as a whole, it can still be a 10/10 even if not all the songs are perfect on their own. One example I can think of out of the hat right now would be the song Buggin' on the Soft Bulletin where it's underwhelming compared to the other song but it helped to lighten the mood and comes on at the perfect time, and is therefore enjoyable if you're just letting the album play.
