"The New Year", "Lightness", "The Sound of Settling", and "We Looked Like Giants" all sound very corny.

the title track, "A Lack of Color", and "Death of an Interior Decorator" are on the other hand some of the best indie rock songs i've ever heard
The rest are pretty alright
it's annoying how this album is split between good and bad songs

What's corny about WLLG? And yes Sound of Settling is a little goofy because it is a song about about your tummy. You seem to be bothered by words and mouth sounds. Do you also think the o-wa-oh in Lightness makes it cheesy?

WLLG just sounds overly sentimental. I guess you can say the same about the songs I said were good but I simply enjoy them and not this one. Lightness sounds a bit overly emotional too and yeah I don't really like the o-wa-oh part too much but mouth sounds can be good on other songs by other bands. I guess it's just an arbitrary "like it or not" thing that I'm bothered by or maybe I am weird. Still, it's bothersome and I hoped other anons would also post albums they think have an annoying mix of good and bad songs but threads that ask questions like these only seem to talk about the first album posted most of the time
