well lads, i ordered 1 ply pickguard material to make my own control cavity cover from, so i can put a fishman rechargeable battery in my guitar without fucking the original cover.

its going to be a fuckload of sanding and fitting it, but i cant easily get a new cover so i think its worth it to keep the original unmolested.

Maybe y'all can help me with my new guitar. I mainly play acoustic but saw an electric I wanted, it's a Kramer 84 so kinda EVH with a single Kramer 85-T bridge pickup. I love this thing but am already dreading how to deal with this floyd.

Problem - pickup is hotter than Satan's asshole. If I pull and split it, no issues, but full humbucker dimed, it cuts out on one of my amps. I have to run the volume knob at a 6-7 if I power chord it up, when I hit 10 one of my amps doesn't even distort, it crackles and goes to silence. It is a cheap digital amp though, the other one seems to handle it okay even if it is all distorted.

Question - Is this normal or is my pickup fucked? I've never heard of a pickup being so hot it distorts on it's own even to the point of fucking my amp up.

So for humbuckers to sound good split they need to be overwound or have part of the second coil still active. Sounds like yours is SUPER overwound. Not sure if there's any fix outside of swapping the pickup.

Fender is a dog shit brand that just started to put actual high quality single coils in their obsolete strat body. The only reason to use single coils is to cut trough live sound cause they sound like cancer otherwise , those things have really low output volume, sound somehow even weaker than a single coil and produce feedback cause of their shitty reaction to distortion.

anyways you are obviously just collecting forniture, they sound like shit so it doesn't matter what you like

Related.
Pretty easy to use something like an MXR 10 band EQ (or a Chink clone of it) to implement a treble boost and/or bass cut using the frequency response graphs at this website in order to make, say, a Les Paul pickup sound like a Strat pickup. If you do it right, the volume difference should be negligible. So, you can get that glassy, chime-like Strat neck pickup tone with humbucking.

And if you want to really be autistic about this for the purposes of recording, you can use something like Web Plot Digitizer at https://automeris.io/ to turn the pickup frequency response graphs into data that the software Room EQ Wizard can read, then use Room EQ Wizard to generate parametric EQ filters that turn one pickup into another pickup, then throw those filters into your DAQ's parametric EQ of choice. This will very precisely allow you to, say, convert from LP to Strat/Tele and vice versa for recording purposes.

When I practice I just mess around until I find some chords I like then I practice changing them. Sometimes I do notes too. Basically my brain is building up a database of how every finger position sounds at every point on the neck, and slowly learning to improvise between them.

The neck on the P90 Stang is so much fatter than on the MG73 or Vintera 2. Not necessarily a bad thing but itโ€™s not nearly as fast playing as the other two. The upside is that it combines nicely with the P90s and the extra body weight to make for a beefy tone. I also really like the satin finish on the back of the neck/gloss on the fretboard, it makes up for the thickness a bit and bends and sustain are nicer. Canโ€™t wait to try it on the MIG 50 when it shows up, itโ€™ll be my go to to test first once I get it set up.

I know all about the ways to get better tuning stability out of a non-locking trem guitar. It's mostly making sure all of the string contact points are well-lubricated.
That being said, if you bend and use the trem enough, it's still gonna go a bit out of tune during a show, no matter how well it's set up, no matter how well the strings have been stretched.

They'll gyp on the hardware and pups the most with those $300 guitars. Probably some less desirable woods, but not always. $700 has a lot of the stuff the $1200 does, but it's foreign made. Maybe a few shit hardware pieces or pups, but not as bad as the $300. I think these are good guitars...but more than likely, many will want to upgrade them over time. So it may very end up in the $1000 range itself.

Test your ear!
If you can name these notes without any reference pitch, congratulations you have perfect pitch.
If you can name these notes after hearing a note and then comparing the difference, congratulations you have relative pitch!
If you can't hear the difference between these notes congratulations you're tone deaf!

What I think he's saying is that a lot of the time the really big acts will just have the roadies bring the guitarist a new guitar after a song rather than tuning the guitar between songs.

I liked Nirvana when I was like 13 but Iโ€™m in my 30s now and might put a Nirvana record on once a year, zero influence from Kurt Cobain on me and me liking Mustangs. My biggest influence for wanting a Mustang is Adrian Belew and David Byrne (who actually used a Duo Sonic and not a Mustang, basically just a Mustang with a hardtail bridge)

Here's an example of one. An actual retard. He hates Strats, but somehow wears an Iron Maiden shirt.
His first criticism is telling. He hates the look because it's too "rounded" and "bubbly". This can only come from a specific sort of metaltard who thinks he's "brutal". Every has to be angular and look like some mallninja's fantasy weapon.

This is the full version, I still need to solder the ground wire to the kahler. I have to file it because the solder won't stick. Maybe get a freezing spray bottle and I plan to add lock in tuners. The kahlee ones suck and I put it wrong rookie mistake. And I plan to a kill switch. Also I make another pick guard if just one humbucker the metal ones that need a 9V I forget what they're called rn

UG finally removed the download button for guitarpro tabs. Downloading on a mobile browser or using a user agent switcher still works. Download all you can before they fix that too. (I know learning by ear is best, but sometimes you just can't figure some stuff out and these tabs are a good baseline)
