We only think that because we are dumb, all genres that were ever populair, are still existing. Ofc not the size of what it once was, but music only gets bigger, with more styles. There are still bands making the exact same type songs as the beatles, and are probably pretty good, but it won't get popular on its own anymore. People moved on to other sounds. Maybe with the right tiktok vid or dance. Unless its just 1 person with a great voice, like that oliver anthony fuck

The fifties is the absolute worst decade when it comes to music. It's actually amazing how worthless that decade was musically. It was all just different varieties of shit. You had to choose between badly recorded acoustic blues sung by a black guy in his fifties who couldn't afford to produce a good recording, the most inane rock and roll of all time, and - the absolute worst - that awful jazz pop sung by both male and female vocalists who aren't even harmonizing but just singing the same exact vocal line simultaneously. There was nothing - NOTHING worth listening to, and if you don't absolutely despise that decade with all your heart and soul they you just don't know how overwhelmingly shitty it was.

I think it's pretty much unanimous that the 2010s was the worst decade for music. 90s was the peak of alternative rock and also had soul (as in the music genre, 90s soul and R&B are absolute peak) and the 2000s also had some solid memorable pop punk and dare I say even good pop rock. 2010s just don't have a lot going for it. And this decade is only half-over so it's hard to generalize it but so far even this decade feels more substantial.

Yeah this. It's a contrarian incel take meant to make people feel included. Saying now is "the best" is just failed normie shit though. But saying the 90s was the worst is also "49 year old virgin trying to feel included". Barely a music discussion to be had here.

Not music. I was quoting "I'm not okay" :-/ . My favorite albums are from this period, but objectively speaking, it was much better than the shitpop that would dominate later on, Thunder by ID, High Hopes by panic!, Lady Gaga, the mumble rapping of the 2010s etc... with virtually nothing notable developed for 20~years.

for me the 2010s was jerking off to porn on tumblr, Syrian civil war generals on pol, and listening to vaporwave, future funk, smooth jazz, city pop mixes.

i hattttted that rock was killed off and never had any interest in the poptimist milieu of "you can only listen to pop and pop rap now"

2010s mostly sucked, it was a terrible time if you didnt like mumble niggs and pop sluts, but the 2020s has one upped the 2010s by being an even more bland version of it.

2020s suck and if you like shit like Sabrina carpenter, olivia rodrigo, morgan wallen, jelly roll, end yourself

It was like.... you're not listening to music for your educational level you're listening to the younger failures, who are want to be's and they not only know what they are, but people are buying these fucking cds. to this day, some people still get mad when you talk about Fred Mac. I think he was in fast or furious he played the black guy who died first. I think his gimmick was he would yell, "suffering succotash" or some stupid shit like that. He would just yell that instead of "biatch" like snoop dogg" Vanilla ice got off easy compared to him. Definitely not the next beastie boys like he though he was but an extreme embarrassment like 311
