I don't hate the brainrot trash that they've produced - some of it is fun, such as 100 gecs (they're technically millennials but are effectively gen Z by association) - but they're terrified of making something that isn't cloaked in irony. If people reject what they make and it's ironic then then can go to sleep at night knowing that it's because it was too wacky and quirky. If they made something sincere and it were to be rejected, that would be too much for them to bare. Frank Zappa had this exact problem, although it was more tragic with him given the extent of what he could have done.
