Daft Punk is EDM for people who never dance or even go out and don't listen to any other electronic music. the amount of times you see a top 50 chart or w/e and its a bunch of entry level hipster garabe and gay indie rock with a sprinkle of trannycore and some rym-approved rap to prove theyre not racis and then theres one daft punk album amongst all the rest of the shite

Just curious zoomer… how do you square opposition to Jews with desperately defending mega corporations that have themselves stolen from artists? Surely you’re at least smart enough to understand that Sony and Virgin do not represent the average man. They’d throw you off a cliff if it made them a dollar.

I have grown to hate sampling.
It's fine when you go so crazy with it you've essentially just created a Frankenstein monster of audio recordings that has its own aesthetic or if you only use it a little bit for effect with otherwise mostly original material but what Drake, Kendrick, Tribe, Daft Punk and Diddy (and of course Anxiety bitch) did was too derivative and banal.
I already heard that Curtis Mayfield song 50 times in the thrift store, I don't wanna hear it + your stupid rapping.
I blame the normalization of sampling for the stuck culture we're in now.
>Bro, just piggyback off the popularity of a better older song for your unlistenable diss track.

Half of the tracks Daft Punk sample have this, like Face to Face. The other half maybe not but they are still catchy enough that I like them, one thing Thomas Bangalter has is an amazing ability to match catchy but simple repetitive electronic tunes, he's proven it with Stardust - Music Sounds Better With You and the Call On Me version he never bothered to release.

They were quite literally NEVER good. How they got so popular is beyond me, but the only reason I can think of is redditors just randomly decided to blow these faggots up as some kind of synth geniuses, while literally not knowing about ANYTHING else in the genre. All the songs I have heard by them use the samples lazily to an infantile degree. Robot Rock is the by far worst offender but even Harder Faster is pretty laughable in terms of not feeling any different than the song the main sample is from.

They still get turned down. I remember Daft Punk turned down will.i.am a decade ago or so from using one of their samples. And look at how Kanye West did that "cover" of Everybody by Backstreet Boys, but they must have stopped him from releasing it officially, etc.

you could still make it and put it out but you couldn't sell the rights to a corporation to exploit for financial gain.
the future is sample based music is just to make it and put it out for free and then try to make money from performing it. you have to avoid spotify but you should anyway. let the copyright owners fight over youtube adsense revenue while you make live gig money and pay a small contribution to collection agencies for the samples you used.

What about this.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5QwOpRh-IfI
Looking at the vid it certainly looks easy enough but it's more about the ability to recognise three parts of a track and think "if I cut these out and re-roder them maybe it will create a memorable riff" which is the impressive bit. The techanicality of the sampling is another thing, but Daft Punk have always been good at making simple but catchy music.
