Also, the production is tight. Every bassline is bouncy, every drum has this satisfyingly crunchy texture like he chopped the beat on a toaster. He’s not trying to flex technical wizardry like Squarepusher or go full-blown weed-fueled psyjazz like Flying Lotus. Scruff just wants you to sip your tea, nod your head, and maybe chuckle at the cartoon whale.
