>With all due respect to the people who went out and bought those records, they are just rubbish. Particularly The Division Bell; it's just nonsense from beginning to end. A Momentary Lapse of Reason had a couple of really nice tunes on it that, had I still been in the band, those chord sequences and melodies would have been made it onto a record that I was involved in. But conceptually and lyrically, it's just rubbish, partly because it's not true. It's like, "Let's try and write songs that sound as if they're Pink Floyd and make records that sound like Pink Floyd records."

He's right, Pink Floyd turning into an edgeless new age/yacht rock band is insulting (listen to "Terminal Frost"). There are few good tracks here and there in The Divison Bell, but the soul is completely gone even if they tried to deliver a more conceptual work. Of course, they were still talented musicians but mediocre-to-bad songwriters.

guess what. It is a bunch of rich white guys making music. I'd rather have ear candy huge records than listen to a bunch of middle aged rich white guys pretend to be edgy.

he's got Jeff Beck and Clapton though... the guitar work is great
what's missing is Gilmour singing, 100 percent dead dad talking is too much, needs Gilmour to balance it out

*Yet Another Movie and you're not wrong.

The guitar intro to Sorrow alone makes AMLOR worthwhile.

the latter half of most rock bands' discographies are trash no one listens to. he can claim responsibility for their golden era but it likely had less to do with him not being in the band and more to do with them just getting older and running out of ideas.
