Why are Black people so good at music? They invented blues, soul, RnB, rock, jazz, hip hop... 99% of Western music wouldn't exist without them. How come they're so much better at it than other races?

They still invented it though. Those white boys would never touch a guitar if they didn't see a Black guy doing it first.

Guitars are a Spanish invention (and if going back far enough, certain variations on the idea a thousand years before, along with Lutes). Country and blues and jazz guys didn't pop around until a hundred years after the Flamenco and Classical guys. This is practically yesterday.

They made great tunes in the 70s too. Chic, Funkadelic, Al Green, Stevie Wonder, Isley Bros (technically a 50s group just longlived).
It almost seems like some deliberate glowie destruction. I'm not tinfoil fat, but it makes a weird sort of sense.

The average life of an MC is next to nothing. Most don't have more than an album in them. While the whole culture is cannibalistic and leads dudes to killing each other. If not that, some newcomer wants to destroy your legacy even though he once looked up to you. Not even a black thing sometimes. Look at MGK and Em.
Meanwhile Ronald Isley has been playing for like 7 decades or something... He just replaces his dead bros with their sons.

they surround themselves with music. probably 9 out of 10 black households have a member of the family that plays music and they hum and dance to everything. it becomes a second language for them. anyone can be great at music if they are exposed to it early enough. even miles learned a ton from bill evans.

Unfortunate but true.
Does anyone even remember that Tribe Called Quest album from the 2010s? Don't think so. And they don't even sing about crack. They're positive dudes. But something is off about hiphop longevity where it doesn't help either way.

>Eric Clapton

I can kinda see why you said this desu. Personally I find his blues work to be too sterile and derivative but he's a very tight guitarist. I like him as a psych rock musician more but yeah. As libtardsd as I might be I cannot pretend this is the worst choice. But I think he was better as a psychedelic musician.

>David Bowie

Absolutely not a soul musicians haha. His actual soul musc was mid as fuck too. Gets mogged by Funkadelic or The 5th Dimension without question. Soul was tripping as fuck in the late 60s and 70s. Good glam rock musician though in his early years,so similar to how I feel about Brian Eno I guess. As a soul musician though absolutely fucking not.

>Sting
>RnB

Fucking how? More like New Wave or something. RnB would be Soul Music,Funk,Rap,or anything by Frank Ocean. That's just not RnB.

>Jimi Hendrix for best rock musician

Yeah pretty solid here too

>Best Jazz Musician

I'm not really into it so idk maybe true. No opinion.

>Best Hip Hop Eminem

I know you're just saying this because he's whiie but like with Clapton you could have picked a lot worse. So that ones fair too ig. Fucking absolutely not for Bowie being the best soul musician mostly. He was a good musician but not at that. His soul stuff is mostly just kitsch.

besides all the cultural and social stuff that led to blues and jazz, I have a theory that the genetic tendency towards lower inhibitions among blacks helps them be creative
they are simply more willing to do weird and expressive stuff that whites and asians would be too self-conscious to do, and some of it manages to stick and resonate with people, creating trends and genres

This but with less of a chud delivery. Same as jews becoming commercial lenders in medieval europe because it was a sin for catholics to lend money and charge an interest (usury) and now fast forward to the present they're in many important positions of power despite them being just 15million people in the world
Blacks bands were marketable in the US in the 19th and 20th century. Whites found them funny/entertaining in that context and theyve always been overrepresented in American music
Notice how theres blacks all over the world but its only in the US that they're overrepresented in the music industry. If it was genetics like some think then Subsaharan africa would be the Mecca of music (its not)

That might have been true in the 50s when black music was eccentric and white music was uptight and preening but by the 60s-70s white music was way far ahead of black music which largely remained basic love ballad and party jam shit.

I used to think suffering and pain leads to musicality too. Lots of dirges and sad folk tunes. Look at the Irish.
But then I got to thinking about Slavs. They've suffered more than anyone, but aren't particularly known for rich music. Not anymore than others. Just good stuff here and there.
